Very nice for the price point
We have had another brand for a good with that is based on the West coast, a very well known brand. However, you have to pay for annual maintenance fees (or up to 5 years). If you do not renew, the services turn off and you're dead in the water till you renew. Looking at the cost of the renewals and have the devices for approx 10 years, I started looking around for some that was equivalent to our current working system and found these. I have used HP and Aruba switches for years for their warranties, but have not looked at their APs till now. WOW! These devices do the same thing that the others do, HOWEVER, there is NO annual fees! I replaced everything plus in the office for a whole lot less then what just the AP maintenance would run for the old one. Quick setup and works very well. Nice interface. Highly recommend.

Great Product, works 100% as advertised
This is a wonderful solution to your networking needs. Highly recommended. The setup does require you to use the QR Code, but that's not a big deal. I had it up and running in a matter of minutes...

Compact, convenient POE switch with mobile app management included
HPE Aruba is a known quantity, so I wasn't worried about the quality of product I would receive. This switch does take a couple minutes to boot up, which for smart/connected managed switches isn't unusual. I was able to set up my account on the mobile app while the switch powered up and got connected to Aruba's cloud. Then I scanned the barcode on the back of the switch and adopted the switch. It automatically updated software, and is running happily now. The app is convenient as well, showing port status, PoE power usage, product info including serial / mac / part number and description. It also shows devices connected on each port, although right now I'm just seeing a list of MAC addresses from the uplink. Will have to dig into that. It will make a slightly-overkill replacement for a Linksys switch I put in place when I replaced Meraki. So far it's quiet, easy to use, and should do more than what I actually need. Nice device with no recurring costs for mobile/remote management, and the option to manage locally if I prefer.

Not reliable. Slow to boot up.
I bought 3 of the 1830 POE switches and they have all needed replacement for port failures within less than 2 years. As for "Instant On", these things take fully 4 minutes to boot up, as opposed to a normal $50 switch that is available in a few seconds. If you are running cameras through this, you will have a 4 minute gap after any downtime, eg power fail or firmware update.

Hardware failed to early
I like Aruba. Easy to configure / manage. Unfortunately this particular product let me down. I started acting up after 2 years. Itโs the first power supply failure i had in a device like this. It started out similar to a firmware issue but it ended up being simple hardware failure.
