KOHLER042811 DBM Savannah JKJ

We used this toilet seat to replace our older Kohler elongated toilet seat. I looked for quite some time for the innocent blush color with the French curve elongated toilet seat. I could not locate the French curve even on the Kohler website. I ordered this one through Amazon because if the product was not opened in the plastic covering it was delivered in, it could be returned.If ordered through Kohler you could not return the product at all. My son-in-law replaced it for us and it only took him about 15 minutes ! Finish and color match the toilet perfectly !!

Quick delivery & very easy to install. So glad the color matched perfectly for my mom's very old Kohler toliet!

This is a good quality product in a very hard color to find. My main issue with the product is it's relatively high price. For that price, it does not even have the soft close feature.

It was a perfect replacement

For a Kohler product I was very disappointed, I knew I was going to be paying premium for a color to match but for how much I paid the thing is just cheap plastic.

I do think the seat was too pricy; however, it was a perfect match for the color toilet hat I have had over 30 years. I have no complaints and I am so pleased with the rose color Kohler toilet seat. The instructions were a little confusing but once I figured it out it was very simple to install. Thanks for the Perfect Match.

There are two problems with this toilet seat. First, after one week of use the toilet lid began to squeak very loudly as it was raised or lowered. Oiling the joint between the small metal rod and the plastic lid where the rotation occurs did not fix the problem. I used a silicone lubricant first and then a regular oil next, and neither one worked. The second problem is a design flaw and results in a very serious safety problem. With the new quick release feature on the hinges, the caps that cover the hinges are too high. That results in the back of the lid hitting the hinge covers before the lid can be pushed back far enough for it to rest against the toilet tank. The problem is so bad that the seat then just barely makes it past the vertical position. As a result, if the lid and seat are quickly raised and not carefully pushed to their farthest position, the seat can come crashing back down onto the toilet rim, smashing anything in its path, such as a four-year old's penis who quickly raises the lid and seat and is not careful to ensure it will stay there. After having the toilet seat just one week, our four year old had the seat crash down twice. Fortunately it missed his penis, but only by an inch or so. I shudder to imagine the pain and injury it would have caused if it did not miss his penis. Kohler should correct this problem before any serious injuries and lawsuits occur. They (and Amazon) should stop selling this particular model (and any like it) immediately until it is corrected. I have contacted Kohler directly about these problems and they were pleasant to deal with. They said they would send me directly a new toilet seat of the same model, but without the quick release hinges. I didn't know that was still available. They assured me that the lid could be pushed back to where it rests against the toilet tank. The new seat should arrive in a few days. I hope it is different than the Kohler Lustra seat I received from Amazon.
