Best little cylinder hone for DIY
Budget got tight after moving into my apartment, but I still wanted to rebuild an old scooter engine instead of paying a shop. This FLEX-HONE works well for that. I just chuck it in my cheap cordless drill, add some oil, and slowly run it through the cylinder. The crosshatch came out nice and even, which honestly made my whole Sunday ๐

Makes cleaning cylinder walls simple
Main reason I grabbed this Flex-Hone was to freshen up the cylinders on my old Honda project without hauling them to a shop. Chucked it into my drill, used some honing oil, and a few slow passes gave me a nice crosshatch. My favorite part was seeing the new rings seat right after the first start.

Maybe boring to look at, but it really cleans cylinder walls
The grit feels right for taking out light scoring without chewing everything up. I used cutting oil, chucked it in a cordless drill, and gave the bore a few passes. The crosshatch came out nice and even, and it knocked down the glaze fast. I had been dreading sending the cylinder out, so this saved me time and hassle.

Used it after shift
The grit worked well and got the worst of it out fast, which was nice because my hands were tired. Wish the handle was a bit longer though. That would help for deep pots. ๐ฅฃ

Perfect Finish Every Time
Used this to deglaze cylinders on a cast iron engine block. Left a nice crosshatch pattern and removed just enough material without overdoing it. Very forgiving and easy to use with a hand drill. Great tool for anyone doing rebuilds at home. Highly recommend.

Barely Fit 3.6" bore.
Buy exact fit to the .10" or one .10" larger Working on a 22r Toyota stock bore 3.6". This hone did it's job with a nice cross hatch. However, the hone just barely hit the bore walls. Maybe this is by design but I feel I should have gotten the 3.75" bore hone as my bore size is 3.6" If your bore is 3.5" then you would be fine. The hone would have a bit of pressure on the bore walls. If you plan on honing a 22r look for the next size up. The balls on the hone wore down Farley fast making flat spots on most the balls. So when you use this you do not want to hone one bore at a time. Make like 2 passes per bore to break in the hone tell you have broke the glazing off the bore walls and broke in the hone, then work on your cross hatch pattern. Over all I like this hone and it's ease of use but the fact that I most likely will not be able to use it again, I may get one more use from it in 5-8 years witch would pay for it self then but a stone hone would be more cost effective. If you build the same 3.5" size bore engine all the time this hone would be ideal. Cause you can just grab put in drill and hone (adding cutting oil).

Easy to use
Very easy to use. Lubricate well and use correct rpm. Online tip of moving very quickly to get good crosshatching works. Don't forget, only for use if cylinders not out of round. Very impressed with this hone.
