The last picture is to illustrate the correct male plug for use this the panel mount connector, **Q: What is the cross-section diameter of the screw body for the wires at the back?** A: I just put my enclosure back together but the screws are pretty small, I'd say about a #4 size because a #4 spade lug fit nicely. **Q: What size hole will be needed to mount the panel plug?** A: Well I bought this and measured the item to make the rectangular hole. As you can see from the photos on amazon. The hole needs to be as wide as the jack and shorter top to bottom. Sorry. mine is already installed and I'm not gonna tear it apart for you. But I will take the time to measure the out side dims for you...so It's 9/16" or 14mm wide and 15/16" or 24mm tall. If you think you have enough room for it, just buy it and make the hole to fit when you have it in hand and you can measure whatever dims you need. **Q: Do you need thermocouple wire to mount this to at data logger or just regular wire?** A: It is recommended to use a thermocouple wire.
