GOOBAT Planted LED Aquarium Light 12/20/24 inches, Fish Tank Hood Led Lighting for Planted and Freshwater Aquariums, White & Blue LED Lighting System

I purchased the 24”/16W version of this light. I love this light and it works great but I’m only giving it 4 stars because of how it has worked for my particular setup. It is a gorgeous, slim, low profile light. I have it on my 9.1 gallon, 23.7”long rimless Aquamaxx tank so I definitely reccommend this light for a rimless and open tank. It is super, duper bright. I split this tank into 3 sections for my Bettas and picked this light so they would have even lighting throughout their tank. But, it was so bright they were stressing out. Granted, this particular tank is only 9.5” deep but I’m still not fond of the fact it doesn’t have light options. It’s either in your face, or off. I was able to find a happy medium by putting 1.5” 3M, blue painters tape over the middle of the light strip. It’s perfect now. I do love the the extendable sides and they adjust easily. It also slides easily along the tank rim so I can see while I’m cleaning different sections of the tank. It seems to be very high quality for $30. I will also add that I do not have live plants in my tank so I cannot comment on how the light does for natural plants. Overall, I’m very happy with this light.

I have a 36 gallon bow front tank. My standard tube light burned out and I went to petco for a replacement. The replacement bulb was already burned out on the one I had just purchased. Another consumer had returned their bad bulb and I was the unlucky recipient. Tired of wasting time with trips to petco I ordered this light bar. I gutted the casing that I was using to hold the original tube flourescent and put the lightbar underneath that light hood. It works perfectly. I love the new lighting. It's super bright and makes my tank look like a saltwater tank. My plants like it too. I have goldfish and java ferns in my aquarium. The java plants have taken off since switching to this.

Lights are brighter than I expected. I bought a pair to upgrade old fluorescent light hoods from the early 1980's. I gutted the old 2 ft hoods and screwed these inside the hoods through the adjustable legs. Did a quick removal and resolder of the power wires so I could route them through the holes in the hoods. Fish look so much more vibrant with the new LEDs. Price was excellent, perfect fit, just what I was looking for. One word of caution, these are not even remotely water tight. Don't let them slip into your tank. Installed in the hoods this is no longer a concern, but I don't think I would trust having these on a tank using their own legs.

Works great, but dislike the blue LEDs a lot. I removed them with a soldering iron as they made my aquarium way too blue. On top of that, it is way too strong for smaller tanks. Mine is heavily planted with pressurized CO2 and it works fine for me after removing some LEDs. If you don't have CO2 and fertilizers running, this thing will make your tank explode with algae so be careful.

worked for about 3 weeks. After writing this review as bad, I was contacted by the company who offered a refund or new light. I chose the replacement light, hoping this was a 1 out of a million chance of getting a defective light. I have upgraded the review up to a 4 star rating based on the promptness of support. thank you Goobat!

Really bright in a 20 gallon tank, wish you could turn a row of the lights off but once tank is planted it should be fine. I may put it in my 45 gallon bowfront that heavily planted and see how that works

good solid product!i like the brightness and the colour combination blue-white...updatethere was an issue with the light, but their customer service was outstanding. responded quite quickly and they are sending a replacement to address the issue.

I purchased the smallest version of the light. The design is sleek and I like how the legs easily slide back and forth to adjust for tank width. The length of wire between the switch and the body of the light is about a foot so the switch cannot be easily hidden, but does make for easy access. The spectrum is a bit on the blue side for a planted tank, but trying it with plants nonetheless.
