This wonder woods tool will make ANY Ferro rod throw sparks like a champ....but a bit of warning is needed... A very soft high magnesium content Ferro rod like Firesteel dot com WILL be eaten alive by this striker if you use too much pressure and speed😂Every ferrocerium rod is different which means you have to practice with this tool so you get your angle right for the strike on that brand..or you can just buy 4DB ferros in every size and shape you think that you might need😂GREAT tool for extra fine shavings of wood to get that fire going quick too. There are probably 100 other uses I haven't figured out yet!Top notch product and customer service at 4DB. ALWAYS....Get the Osage Orange Striker and see for yourself!

Like most, I've always used the spine of my fixed blade with my ferro rod. This tool caught my attention and since it was relatively inexpensive I decided to give it a try. Thus far I'm completely sold. What you get is a super hard steel square bar mounted in a comfortable wood handle. The edges on the bar are perfect for scraping your ferro rod yet not so sharp that you need to be concerned with cutting anything you don't want cut. Great product. Pair this with a 4DB 1/2" diameter ferro rod and you are ready to start a fire in any conditions.

Little pricey
It is a good idea, but price is about double what it should be ! Had some square hss at home and made a couple !!

Outstanding Stricker
This stricker produces a outstanding amount of sparks. The handle is comfortable in your hand making it easy to use with very little effort. It is well worth the cost.

Did not contact seller.Fell apart on me the first time I used it. Steel is excellent but very poorly inserted into the handle which is of very soft wood.Made my own handle from an old broomstick. Now using 1/2 ferro rod I feel like I need welding goggles to strike the rod. Honestly, I don’t look directly at the spark.
