I installed it, and performed the initial test, "water test." This steam release sealed and all seemed well. I attempted to cook something, but this time the steam release held for almost the entire 12 minute time, then began seeping steam. On the next attempt at cooking food, this release started spewing steam as soon as the pin rose. I then tried this part on my 3qt Ultra, wondering if my 6qt had abruptly developed an overheating condition or something. Unfortunately, it spews steam the exact same way on my 3qt, which runs at lower pressure than the 6qt. I reinstalled the old original steam release on my 6qt and tested it, and the 6qt performs flawlessly.
