This product is a double-edged sword. The only thing that I found dissipated the chemical that was so irritating to my system was air circulation and time. I found it was much better after 3 days and gone after about 5. I use this product with extreme prudence now. However, I’ve found that it’s only pet urine cleaner I have used (I’ve tried about 4 brands) that actually passes the black light test. All of the other enzymatic cleaners I’ve tried leave urine residue that my black light picks up. That said, I hate this stuff for it’s smell and the irritating chemicals. I would only use this to clean urine stains that had time to dry before detection or that were on a carpet/upholstery that could be placed outside to air out the chemical smell before being used inside again. **Q: Does this have the horrible new fragrance? we can't stand the odor of the new urine destroyer formula. i bought out the old stock at our orschelns.** A: This product is available in the same scent as the Urine Destroyer. It is also available in a sunny lemon scent. I find the sunny lemon scent far preferable to the very flowery smell of the original formula and the other formula. Beware - the advanced formula comes in both scents. Be sure it says "sunny lemon" on the bottle if that's the one you want. There are a lot of blog posts that talk about how to use this, but basically you want to let it soak in for about 5 mins before blotting it up. Then cover it with a towel so that it drys slowly and so the cats don't investigate. Leave it on for anywhere from 48 hours to two weeks. The urine smell will get worse as the enzymes work. After the product has dried in place for the appropriate amount of time, you can then use a carpet cleaning machine and lots of water to extract the remaining urine and NM.
