Plays the DVDs through with ease, clear picture, and decent sound. The big screen is very much appreciated; I don't feel like I'm sacrificing enjoyment during my viewing experience that might otherwise be lost by watching a movie on a smaller screen. Now, the nitpicks: for the first few discs, there was a slight ticking sound while the DVD played. It was a little distracting, but seems to have gone away...knock on wood. Oddly, there doesn't appear to be a Play/Pause button on the device itself. There is a Stop button, but in order to resume, you'll need to use the remote control (which takes two AAA batteries, not included). An easy workaround, but still strange. As for the remote itself, it works, but you need to be quite deliberate when pressing the buttons.
