Fantastic & Revolutionizes EPP
I always loved the wonderful quilts made via English Paper Piecing, so a long time ago I gave it a try. I absolutely detested basting fabric to papers with thread and then having to detach the papers and deal with removing the basting as well. Ugh. So, to heck with that, eh?Fast forward 3+ decades, and my interest in EPP was again flaring up when I discovered Helen Stubbings' Quick & Easy English Paper Piecing course on Craftsy. She taught how to use Hugs 'n' Kisses applique paper (inkjet printable) and she taught how to use these precut papers...which you do not ever have to remove from the quilt! The 'papers' are 50% water soluble and 50% nonsoluble and are not removed from the project. After washing, any stiffness washes out and the remaining part is much like a very lightweight fusible interfacing. The shiny side is fused to the wrong side of the fabric, using a hot DRY iron for only a few seconds. Using steam will dissolve the stiffness, rendering the precut unusuable. Fusing for lengthy periods of time crystalizes the fusible, again rendering the precut unusable. A few seconds with a hot DRY iron is all that's needed. After fusing, cut around the precut, leaving 1/4" seam line. If really pressed for space on a particular swatch of fabric, the seam line can go as low as 1/8", but the larger seam allowance is preferable.Since these papers are semitransparent, you can use fussy cutting technique to capture designs and motifs easily. After cutting out the preshapes (I use regular scissors vs. rotary cutter), you need to use a watersoluable fabric glue stick to fold the seam allowance over the edge of the precut. It's better to spread a line of glue on the precut itself, keeping the glue away from the very edge of the precut. Keeping the glue about 1/32" (about .5 mm ) away from the edge allows for easy hand sewing without the glue mucking things up or increasing pressure needed to pierce the fabrics. Keep the line of glue slight enough so that the glue is completely covered by the seam allowance.Remember--shiny side against the wrong side of fabric and quickly fuse with hot DRY iron.I love these papers and the process of cutting, gluing, and sewing is portable, taking it anywhere, and all this can be done whilst watching TV too!

English Paper Piecing Without the See Through Stitching! Fabulous for light fabric.
If you like to do EPP, you know what I am talking about when I say the light colors can be frustrating when the seam allowances show through the fabric. Even though these aren't made specifically for that, they are a godsend.First, they iron on nicely. I don't use them as my papers, although you can. I use them as backing on the light fabrics, while I still use papers for some added stiffness. I've also used these as the papers but they aren't quite stiff enough for me to use alone, but that is just me because I'm not too too careful.Get these!

Perfect for English Paper Piecing
Great for English paper piecing...easier and more convient than removable inserts. I suggest this iron applique paper option for beginners. Then use the glue method to turn the sides. Just make sure the shiny (glue) side is facing the backside of your fabric or it will glue to your iron. There were 100 in the pack.

expensive but works great
appliqued a quilt for Christmas gift and washed it first to ensure the appliques did not shrink. Product worked great but I think way too expensive for the quantity in package (I needed 3 @ $10.00 each). Will return to my old method just because of the cost factor.

These work quite well for piecing
These work quite well for piecing. After washing, there is still quite a bit of stabilizer left, so I remove it from the back of my appliqued blocks so they're easier to hand quilt. They are however quite stable when sewing.

Love these hexies
Love these hexies...they make the hexie process very easy and love the fact that they'll disappear with water when project is eventually washed.
