I have plugged the filter in different locations to test for the best suppression. **Q: Can i use my trifield 100xe instead of this?** A: No. You need a plug in meter. Like the Greenwave meter or an Oscilloscope thx! **Q: Why do I need this device, if all it does is measure dirty electricity?** A: This meter is necessary to determine if you have dirty electricity in your home. Per Greenwave, if this meter measures over 50mv (to me 50mv is acceptable) it is considered to be dirty electricity putting out fields that are unhealthy. If you detect dirty electricity, then you purchase the filters from Greenwave. We had excessive dirty E when measured. Some rooms measured over 600mv. Keep in mind the measurements can vary throughout the day (and appliances operating). We measured one outlet in the bedroom that was approx 600mv, when we plugged in the filter and measured the outlet above it, it dropped below 50mv. Since we now have 2 filters in the bedroom and in other rooms, we are now sleeping better than ever - yes the dirty electricity was indeed interfering with our sleep and thus we are feeling better during waking hours. I hope this helps. **Q: Is there an adapter to be able to check 220V lines i.e. furnace, dryer, water heater?** A: There is a way to do it...but you will have to ignore some electrical safety protocols. A 220 line is simply two 110 lines. Open up the receptacle and use jumpers from one hot line (110) and attach other jumper to ground. Then repeat for the other 110 line. Great tool and EASY TO USE! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This works very well... although a bit pricey. Still recommended. *by S***S on January 16, 2020* I have been buying noise suppression solutions for decades. I have always wondered how many of them were not really doing anything. Well now I finally found out. I have a couple of Furman Power Conditioners (PST-8). I tested them to see if they did indeed lower the noise floor going into my stereo system. Short answer, no. In fact I found that the noises floor on the circuit they are connected to actually went up. These are basically glorified power strips that cost $100. They are for sale now. Basically worthless snake oil. I also tested my Panamax power conditioner (MR5100). This is a lower model in the Panamx range. The Panamax cut the noise floor by roughly 75%. I was shocked. Actual reading dropped from 1300MV to less than 300MV. Actually an improvement and worth the investment compared to the Furman. I recommend getting this device to really know what is happening and to stop guessing and thinking you hear a sound improvement.
