Wrong type of fake skin
This is not the right type of fake skin you need, what you need to buy is silicone fake skin, rubber does not stretch, what you are gonna do is break the skin while you tattoo, and is gonna make you feel discouraged, get some silicone skin, is better for tattoing.

Very thin
These skins are very thin, so you cannot effectively practice depth control. You will want to adjust your needle depth, and also put something underneath so the needle doesn't hit the table. You get plenty to practice with, though, and they are a good value.

These are thin
Granted, I am just learning how to tattoo..but, I have tried several types of skins and these were not quite as good as others I have gotten. They are a little oily, so I had to wipe them really well first. They are also much thinner than what I have used, so it is difficult to effectively practice needle depth. I mean, they still work and all- I would just likely try another type, moving forward. I do like that they are individually wrapped!

Very dense and durable!
SUPER dense!! Great for practicing with a tattoo gun but a bit harder to practice on with stick and poke needles. This product specifically comes with 20 pieces which last a WHILE, so this is a great deal!

Very thin practice skins
These skins are great for practicing your lines, shading, and holding your pen which is where you should start when you’re beginning. Each skin is also individually wrapped which is nice because it keeps your skins clean and cuts down on your prep work before you start tattooing. I would still recommend you wipe them down with detergent or alcohol to get rid of any residual grease before you lay down a stencil or pull lines. These skins, however, are very thin and you have to tattoo very lightly or you’ll drill through the skin and into your table. When tattooing real skin, you want to get the ink into the dermis which is about 2mm deep. Unfortunately, these fake skins are only about 1mm thick so you won’t be able to practice depth control which you really need to be comfortable with before moving on to real skin. See pics. I would recommend you add another layer or 2 layers of fake skin underneath your working layer so you don’t blunt your needles if you happen to drill through into your table. Overall, these skins are perfectly fine for getting you acquainted with your pens and you get a ton of practice skins for the price.
