No tools required. I ran CrystalDiskMark 8.0 with all the defaults except I selected NVMe SSD profile. This old school SATA SSD was pulling harder than another device I reviewed that was using a competitors enclosure and a NVMe M.2 2280 SSD. The results were basically But they were close enough to convince me the only real bottleneck is in my USB 3.1 interface. I think these babies can go faster if I had a laptop that wasn't 3 years old.
