Worked right out of the box
As the title says, the Micro Receiver worked right out of the box without any issues. As many of you have noticed, there is no Micro Receiver Manual available on the BetaFPV website. However, not to fear, the Micro Receiver works just like the Nano serial output Receiver. To get it to bind to your BetaFPV gamepad radio, turn on the radio, plugin the Receiver power to 5 vdc three times and the blue LED will start double blinking. Then using a paper clip, push the bind switch on the radio and you should see he blue LED go solid blue indicating that the Micro Receiver has bound to your gamepad radio. No, I don't use a pass phrase as there is no one within 10 miles of me using BetaFPV hardware. After getting the Nano Receiver to bind to my gamepad radio, I decided to test the Micro Receiver's WIFI functionality. So I turned the gamepad radio off and repowered the Nano Receiver so it would go into the binding mode which it did, however after about a minute the blue LED began to flash quickly indicating that the Nano Receiver was in the WIFI mode. Using my trusty laptop I connected to the expresslrs hotspot which brought up the hotspot website. Incase you are wondering, the BetaFPV firmware on the Micro Receiver is Expresslrs version 2.0.0 which is quite on the old side. My BetaFPV LiteRadio 3 has Expresslrs version 2.0.1. Additionally my BetaFVP Nano serial receiver had Expresslrs version "unknown" so I built and flashed it with version 2.0.1 without a pass phrase and it had no problem binding to my gamepad radio. You are now probably wondering what the little black button on the Micro Receiver is for? That is the same as the teeny weeny little button on the Nano serial Receiver which is used to put the Micro Receiver in the programming mode using either the FC passthrough or a USB/UART for communication with the Receiver just like with the Nano Receiver. And no, I don't fly Quads with my BetaFPV gamepad radio and receiver. I work with the Donkey Car Crew and someone was looking for a gamepad with longer range than BT and this is it. Update: Contrary to what BetaFPV and other Users have claimed, the Micro Receiver will run on 3.3 vdc. The receiver has a 3.3 vdc regulator that converts the 4-6 vdc ESC input to 3.3 vdc for use by the onboard ESP8285 MCU/WIFI IC. If 3.3 vdc is applied to the receiver, the 3.3. vdc regulator just passes the 3.3 vdc along to the ICs on the board. The fact that the ESP8285 is a 3.3 vdc IC means that the servo PWM outputs are 3.3 vdc and not the expected 5 - 6 vdc. I now have two of the Micro Receivers and both worked right out of the box.
