Incredible hold, clean ingredients, and zero skin irritation!
I am a huge fan of this organic pomade. The hold is excellent and lasts all day, and you really only need a little bit of product to style your hair and get it exactly how you want it. It washes out easily since it's water-based, and it leaves a nice, clean shine without feeling greasy. The biggest selling point for me is that it completely lives up to the claim of hydrating dry skin, it doesn't irritate my scalp or forehead at all, which is a rare find with high-hold hair products. Plus, the "Rugged" scent is phenomenal. Love supporting a veteran-owned company that makes high-quality, safe products. Highly recommend!

This is the one to buy
This is my go to pomade from now on. Holds perfectly without being greasy looking. Rinses clean, has a great scent and my hair feels soft. Just finished my second container and ordered the third before I ran out. All day hold, great value and it will be all I use. Great job Johnny Slicks!!

Good product but could have been better for price
It's a good product with a decent scent. Kinda smells like Christmas with a manly Santa musk. It's slightly overpriced for what it is. It definitely holds hair in place well for the day and it has a good consistency when spreading into hair. However, it is greasy washing out and I did buy the shampoo and conditioner with this product. The smell also lingers even after washing it out. I want to point out I didn't put a lot in my hair , no more than I did with suavecito. IMO , very few products out perform suavecito. Not bad , prob wouldnt buy again though. I shouldn't be able to still slick my hair with my hand after washing it out with shampoo and conditioner from this brand, but that greasy feeling is there.

Excellent pomade
This pomade is one of the best hair products I’ve used. I’ve tried both the wax-based and water-based versions, and they both provide excellent hold and smell great. The water-based version stands out because it washes out easily—especially with conditioner—and doesn’t leave a sticky residue behind. It keeps my hair looking great all day (even up to 24 hours) without causing itchiness or dandruff. Highly recommend.

You’ll never get it out
I ordered this accidentally thinking it was the formula 49 clay which I love. This product smelled really good so I decided to give it a try… epic regret. Whatever you, do do not put this on your skin or hair because you will never get it out lol. I’m not trying to exaggerate here, but I had to shampoo my hair 13 times to get it out. I finally resorted to using dawn dish detergent and Gojo to get it off my skin & hair. I love the Johnny slick’s brand, but something is wildly wrong with this product. I had to throw the comb out that I used when applying it to my hair because I couldn’t de-grease it. This whole experience was so confusing…. For fun, I rubbed some of this pomade on a piece of glass and then also sprayed some truck undercoating (fluid film) next to it to see which would more “washes” with some griots car was soap. The pomade lasted longer. So… the inside of one of my rocker panels on my old Duramax now smells like pomade 😂

NOT Water Based
This would be five stars if I wanted an oil based product. It would be one star, but for the quality ingredients, and US based, vet owned aspects. At the end of the day, it is NOT water based. The ingredient listing is virtually 100% oils/lipids and not water soluble. Hold is great, ingredients are great, but I have to shampoo numerous times to remove it, and it simply will not wash off my hands and comb. I'll gladly try a truly water based product by Johnny Slicks if they ever develop one.

Great product, strong hold.
Just what I was looking for. My hair is kind of wavy, so I typically need something with a decent hold. Their oil based pomade (omega) is my go to, and happens to hold my hair how I like it most of the time. But come summer, the heat really weakens the hold, and I had little curls hanging everywhere. Some guys can pull that semi-disheveled look off, I prefer the neat professional look. I’d opt for the clay when the weather got hot, but it was on the pricy side and I couldn’t justify the price. That’s where the water based pomade came in. Great strong hold, without damaging my hair, making it dry, or leaving residue. Best part, it holds all day no issue. It says it’s a high shine product, but I’d argue it’s a moderate shine without looking greasy, just the way I like it. Somewhere in between the clay and oil. Keep in mind that the product does build up a little over time, so you’ll need to wash your hair thoroughly. Not an issue since it means you’ll need less product overall, and it’s water based so washing it out isn’t too bad. Hope Nick and Johnny don’t change this formula too much, they hit a home run with it.
