Love This Machine! (See recipes in this review)
My second child is 9 months old, and for my first, I made baby food by steaming it in a pot and blending with a stick blender. It was never very good, and my daughter didn't love the purees I made.Six years later, I thought I'd do it the same way, but a friend suggested a baby food maker when I was lamenting about how the stick blender doesn't work well unless you make a huge batch of something, which I don't like doing because what if he doesn't like it? I had never even thought about getting something like this, but she had a good point, so I bought this one and I LOVE IT. It's small, so it makes just enough for one to three meals (my baby eats a lot though). It steams PERFECTLY and blends PERFECTLY. The purees are so smooth! My baby is picky about texture, and this blender makes everything so creamy. Here are my favorite meals to make for him in this machine:Applesauce: Chop enough apples to fill the basket (this is usually 1 1/2-2 small apples - I use Fuji), sprinkle some cinnamon on top, close it up and steam away. When it's finished, throw out the water at the bottom and add a small amount (maybe 1-2 tablespoons) of fresh water. Blend and serve alone or mixed with baby oatmeal.Carrot, apple and kale: Chop 1 1/2 to 2 carrots, and half an apple. Add a handful of kale on top. Steam and blend with 1-2 tablespoons of fresh water. This can also be made with pear instead of apple, and spinach instead of kale. If you use pear, don't add the water to blend - pears are watery and they make the blending work without it.Sweet potato, red pepper and white bean: Chop half a sweet potato and half a red pepper. Add 1/4 cup of white beans (low-sodium cannellini work well). Make sure the beans are rinsed well first. Steam and blend with 1-2 tablespoons of fresh water. I also make this with black beans.Butternut squash and pear: Fill the basket 3/4 of the way with diced butternut squash. I buy frozen in a bag and put it straight in the steamer, frozen. Add half a pear. Steam and blend - note, pears are watery so you don't need water to blend.Potato and broccoli: Fill the basket half with chopped baby potato (no need to peel it), and half with broccoli. Steam and blend with 1-2 tablespoons of water. This recipe also works with spinach.Chicken and apple: Fill the basket halfway with raw chopped chicken breast or thigh. Add half an apple. Steam and blend with water - for this recipe, I don't throw out the water that remains after steaming - I use it because it has chicken fat in it. Add more water if the chicken doesn't get creamy enough. This puree can be mixed with any of the above veggie purees for a delicious combo. Also, you can add 1 tsp of olive oil to any veggie puree to get some good fat in there.Cherry avocado: Steam a cup of frozen pitted sweet cherries. When it's done steaming, add 1 tablespoon of water and half an avocado (don't steam the avocado!). Blend and serve alone or mix with baby oatmeal.

Space saving, quick + easy, one freezer tray portion
You may have heard the criticisms regarding lots of baby food systems, things like “just use your food processor or blender”. You certainly can do that. However, if your child’s nursery is right next to your kitchen (like our situation) you will find this a quieter process. Not without noise by any means, but quieter than a standard blender, etc. Also, the portion sizes this product renders fit nicely into about one freezing tray (if you make your food in bulk). The transfer process from steam to puree is very intuitive with a tool that slides in the steam basket and make it easy for you to turn it over and pour back in the basin for pureeing, without mess. I find it easy to clean, easy to store and very seamless. I have not used it to warm freezer puree cubes yet, but it will work just fine I’m sure. All in all, it’s a great product for making food ready to eat in the moment (allow some cooling time) or smaller bulk batches (one freezer tray). When I want to makes large amounts of a food I know my son loves (like apple sauce) I still use my giant pot and old school steaming set up with the blender, but for the majority of my food prep this has been a life saver! I really recommend this product.

We like this product a lot
We really love this little device. It’s everything in one. Less to clean, easy to use and it steams very well! Better value than other products like this on the market. The jars are wonderful too (bought separately from this brand) and we use them for every one of his meals. We have used it for our own smoothies :) Some items you need to blend longer like blueberries bc skin is left over but most everything else comes out creamy and perfect for an infant. We like it. You can see how much your baby is eating. Great customer service too.

Powerful Multi Use Baby Food Maker
We bought this when our daughter started solids in order to make our own baby food. I love the size of the baby food maker and the sleek design. It is very easy to use and clean. I have made purees and steamed fresh food for the baby and even for myself. Great also for baby lead weaning, I have steamed diced veggies and fruits which make it easier for baby to learn chewing and swallowing. Best part is that the blade detaches for easy clean up. I have no complaints and do not mind that you have to hold the button for the blender as it takes only a few seconds. I would highly recommend this powerful little system if you want to make baby food!

Good baby food steamer, but with a few tweaks would be better
Overall a good design, and it does a good job of steaming and pureeing given enough liquid. Note - don’t use the water that collects underneath the steam basket to mix with the food. I think the instructions might say this, but the meaning is a bit ambiguous, possibly due to translation from another language. In any case, I advise you to throw this condensed steam liquid out and use fresh clean water. I thought I could preserve some nutrients by reusing the water, but when I tasted the food afterwards I felt that possibly the water had retained some sediment and possibly vinegar from the steam chamber. So now I throw it out and use fresh. The negative aspect of this machine is that I find it to be a somewhat awkward user experience. The biggest peeve I have is that not only do I have to set the pitcher onto the base in a specific position with very little room for error (whereas a Ninja for example allows you to set it down with some wiggle room, and then twist right or left to lock into place), I also have to pull the handle toward me and to the right in order to lock it into place. The angle of the handle in relation to my body is strange and this motion feels awkward to me, and hasn’t gotten more natural with continued use. I also find I have to hold onto the Qooc body while I twist the pitcher handle and provide resistance in order to twist far enough to get a proper seal between the water chamber for steaming food - Not a huge deal, perhaps, but an extra step that I always feel makes my use of the machine a bit tedious. The other thing I can think of is a matter of minor inconvenience: I have to manually twist the knob back to center after steaming is finished.

Just get it you won't regret.
After looking at multiple baby cookers and reviews, decided to go with this one for its price, functions and design. No regrets at all! Tested it right away and baby loved the apple puree I made - it's so easy you just need to chop up your choice of food and dump it in, and the cooker will do the rest for you! The dialer is so self explanatory just steam or blend. The consistency results were great. It encourages me to experiment and make all sorts of food for my baby! Photo shows 1 diced apple. The brand also offers online recipe books too!

It’s excellent for the price
I have been using it for about a month now and I have to say it’s a pretty good product. Very well designed to help parents with babies. I had another baby food maker with my first child and it lasted, but barely. I was hoping to use it for my second baby, but it didn’t happen. So now my second baby is starting solids and I thought I didn’t want to buy a second baby food maker. I thought I’ll just use what I have, the steaming basket, the regular blender, etc.But these baby products are not supposed to last for more than one baby. Once I accepted that, it was easy to see that a product like this will definitely help me save a lot of time and effort. So I went and did the research. This one seemed to do everything I needed and the cost was acceptable. It’s small, which is exactly what I need. Doesn’t take much space. Allows you to cook small amount of food. I prefer to feed my baby fresh food when I can, and blending half a carrot in my regular blender would be just impossible. Ideally I’d like to cook the food in glass, but that costs a lot! This plastic is really good, I’ve already cooked a few staining foods (carrots, prunes) in it and rinsing right away ensured there are absolutely no stains on it, see photo.I love how the spatula is designed to grab the steaming basket so you don’t have to touch it when it’s hot and to dump the food back to blend, together with the steaming liquid so you don’t lose nutrients.I wished I could wash the compartment where the water goes, but I found that using a clean paper towel to wipe it down while it’s still moist but already cool solves the issue.Overall I’m very happy with this purchase. I had another more expensive one before and it wasn’t better. New moms, I definitely recommend this. We need all the help we can get!
