This brand I have been using for years for making my liquid soap. It is trustworthy as far as quality goes and I have never had a problem with my soap making.

I will never stray from Essential Depot in favor of a better price again! I bought another seller’s KOH because it was $15 for 2 Lbs. Yeah, this was also supposed to be reagent grade as well. Smh, this stuff took on water from the air so fast that within a week it was a solid mass. This is because of the inferior packaging. It wasn’t very reactive, so making potassium silicate for my plants didn’t work out so wells. With essential depot’s KOH, be careful because at first all you feel is greasy finger tips but that’s actually your natural oils being saponified because the KOH comes in superior packaging and will remain fresh indefinitely. The soap it makes is awesome, Potassium Silicate reacts at stoichiometric amounts and I have been able to use essential depot’s KOH consistently without fail. Another thing that I love is that you get to reuse the bottles which are high temperature and a mouth size of a standard chemical containment bottle and I’ve yet to see any leaks. Which is why I ordered 9 lbs. Fruit bearing plants and trees consumed large quantities of potassium, so potassium Nitrate, potassium sulfate, potassium phosphate, potassium silicate (plant strength, water retention, pest and disease resistance). So KOH is extremely useful because everything afore mentioned can be made from the conjugate base of an acid without having to actually touch the acid through reverse replacement reactions. Epsom Salt + KOH =Magnesium hydroxide (milk of magnesia) & Potassium sulfate same thing applies to that calcium ammonium nitrate thats burning plant roots can be converted to Potassium Nitrate, where the ammonia leave’s solution because there’s no complex of ammonia and potassium nitrate ( must react outdoors) and the same would apply for any other metal cation lower on the reactivity series.

It is what it says it is. Works incredibly. Dissolves easily and is good value. I’d love to be individual bottles instead of dealing with a bulk bucket., I saved tons of time on measuring because it’s so easy
