It took a bit longer to get the hang of using it for closer birds. I used it both for sighting at long range and using as a telephoto lens on my iPhone. I bought this monocular for a recent trip that involved some animal watching and site seeing on hikes. The clarity and zoom of the product was just as good, if not better than our binoculars and much easier to use. With both adjustment dials, I could clearly hone in on anything we wanted to see. The quality of this is great, the picture is clear, and it is simple to use. It comes with a convenient carrying bag and caps to protect the lenses, although both caps can be easily lost, so be careful! It also comes with a tripod and an attachment for attaching the monocular to your smartphone and taking photos with, although I never use these.
