This is so cute and well made. I bought this for my great grandson (16 months) for Christmas. The pieces are perfect size, no choking hazard. The fruit and veges are a great facsimile of the real thing. Includes 6 primary colors for further learning. The bushel basket is perfect and again well made. We will be making this into a plant your garden game. Not cheap but much better made than the cheap larger sets.

I spent a while researching pretend food for my 21 month olds new play kitchen. I finally decided on these and am thrilled with them. They have great detail, aren’t flimsy, are a nice compact size, and are very realistic. The bushels are perfect for storing and display. I do agree with some reviews where they have a smell when you open them but the smell is no different than other toys. I aired them out overnight and washed them with a antibacterial wipe (instructions say damp cloth) and the smell is slowly disappearing. It isn’t strong or awful though, so I have no concern that it will linger. Very happy with these and will soon by the breakfast / lunch / dinner and other speciality sets.

I did tons'o research here on amazon to buy some starter play food for my 21 mo. old daughter who just got a play kitchen. I know there are die hard wooden food enthusiasts, and I almost went that route except 1) we have hard wood floors and 2) we have a small dog. My daughter likes to throw things and I didn't want to hear wood pieces clanging all over the floor and also didn't want to worry about her throwing hard wood pieces at the dog! So for plastic, I settled on the learning resources brand and started with this bushel of veggies. Kinda wish I would have gone with the bigger veggie sorting kit - these pieces are adorable. While I agree that they are smaller in size than the real deal - I personally am happy with that. The pieces are perfect for her little hands are totally proportionate with her play kitchen. Any bigger wouldn't make sense to me, but that's just my opinion. Quality is high - the basket is really nice hard plastic and the veggies are more rubbery, but you can see very durable, and very nice detail on each veggie. I mean the asparagus - come on - its adorable. My one and ONLY complaint is that yes, when I opened that box - whew! Super strong chemical/plastic/paint smell. I've read that Learning Resources is careful to use safe materials (bpa free etc...) So my hope is that after a little air out the smell will dissipate. Hence the 4 stars. If the smell goes away I will update to 5 stars and will very likely be order more from this company!

As a retired ECE, Early Child Educator, I am very selective about age appropriate mediums for young children. These are perfect, colors are vibrant, easy for the Littles to hold, along with safe sizes for those moments when a child will “taste” test them.

I’m very pleasantly surprised with these vegetables, they’re soft and squishy not hard plastic and very realistic looking. Bright colours and the basket they come in is cute. My baby absolutely loves them. I will say though a few of the veggies (such as the carrot) were too small for me to feel comfortable giving my baby to play with just yet so I’m waiting on those. But most of the veggies are very large and no risk of choking.
