Could a kid (7 or 10 yrs) do it on their own or would they need help?** A: To know whether or not a child would be able to put bikes on this rack would depend on the size of the bikes and the placement of the attachment bar. The attachment bar height is adjustable and can be installed as high as 76.5" and as low as 20". Please note the size of the bikes being stored on this rack when deciding where the attachment bar should be placed. **Q: What is the torque spec. for the nuts?** A: I usually use torque wrenches but in this case I simply snugged until I began to see slightest deflection in the steel wall. It just needs to be snug enough. **Q: What's the difference between the 5 bike rack and 6 bike rack? From what I can see, it's only an extra hook ($20 extra) but same size frame???** A: It is the same rack/system -- the 6 bike version includes an additional attachment, to hold one more bike. How well it will work for 6 bikes will depend on the size of the bikes, if they are all larger frames, you may want to go with the 5 bike version. **Q: What is the thread and pitch for the feet to add casters?** A: I didn't measure the thread pitch before installing so I can't answer your question specifically. However I would not put casters on this rack. With the included feet the rack is very stable. I have 5 bikes on mine with no issues. Casters would change that. Every time you moved it, it would want to tip over leaving all your bikes in a pile on the floor. Would recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good but quite pricey item - easy to assemble and does hold 5 bikes. *by M***D on 27 May 2026* Having read some other reviews I was rather nervous about what this would be like, but apart from the price I can't really fault it. Instructions were clear enough. The nuts bolts and washers were good - nylox locking nuts are provided so the thread deliberately doesn't go right through and that is why you must have 2 spanners or socket wrenches to assemble it - I used a spanner and an electric impact wrench which speeded things up a lot. The hook suspends the bikes by the wheel rims - not the spokes as some have suggested; you can rotate the wheel so that the hook is not in contact with any spokes if this concerns you. The fixing brackets at the end of the top rail were a little bent and out of line but the bolts fitted easily and pulled everything straight! All other parts were perfect and the drilling was all accurate. Working alone and slowly it took me less than 90 minutes to assemble it. I have fitted all 5 hooks and currently have 4 adult bikes (MTBs and flat bar tourers) on it and I'm sure there's room for a fifth one. They are tightly packed in alternating handlebar up/down formation and it won't be easy getting the middle ones out! I was surprised at the floor area this occupied because of the spread of the bikes: from the wall out to the saddles is about 1.4 metres, and the width needed (including pedals and bars that overhang the edges of this stand ) is about 1.8m - so you don't gain a huge amount of extra floor space by using this.
