Is this saw a good choice for cutting laminate countertop?

Not sure to be honest. I use it to cut dovetails in pine and hardwood. It works well for that purpose. I would be worried about premature dulling because of the adhesive that holds that stuff together. Just a guess. I'll bet that it will make a nice clean cut until it does get dull.

What is the width of the kerf? I'm looking for a saw for cutting slots for guitar frets?

My blade is a bit worn, but it measures 0.020 inch (.51mm) at the heel of the blade where it didn't see much cutting.

Is the spine a removeable add-on to the standard handle, or all one piece? Thank you
