Brought shower head pressure down to useable level
We have an electric pump driving our two showers, which is awesome for the rainfall heads but is way too much for the smaller wand shower heads. If someone flicked the shower the wrong way the pressure could literally shoot them off the wall hook or blast water across the bathroom. These valves have sorted that, reducing the pressure to a safe level and being genuinely useful when you're using the head to clean the bath etc. Absolute doddle to fit - literally 2 mins. Installed mine at the controls end of the hose so it didn't interfere with the shower head hook. Feels like a quality valve. I bought two!

Bought to replace a stiff and leaky shower stop valve
We have a thermostatic shower that has started to leak water, even when fully shut off. Our options are to either rip out the old one and install a new one (which could cost a lot as we’d have to redo most of our shower room), or to install a small stop valve like this one.We opted for the valve. I checked out the various options on Amazon and decided on this one as it sounded well made (solid brass), easy to use (a slider to turn it on or off) and simple to install. It arrived 24 hours after ordering and was packaged in a little cardboard box (like a large matchbox) which was nice as this meant it was easy to open and easy to recycle the packaging. The valve was well made and the mechanism seemed to be nice and smooth in its operation. Also included was a small black washer and a small roll of PTFE tape.I removed the shower hose and shower head and disconnected the old valve (which was located between the outlet at the bottom of the shower thermostatic controller) and the start of the flexible shower hose.I gave the hose a quick clean in the sink to remove soap residue and any limescale build-up, then unscrewed the old valve. As it was on quite tightly I needed an adjustable wrench to grip the valve and enable it to be loosened.Once off I cleaned the end of the hose quickly, removing the old washer.I dried the screw thread with some paper towels and unwrapped the PTFE tape provided. I wound this round the (male) thread of the shower hose making sure to not twist the tape.Once I’d been round the thread about 6 times, I cut the tape and made sure it was staying in place. I then placed the new washer inside the new valve and attached it to the end of the hose that had just been wrapped in the tape. First I tightened it by hand and then used the adjustable wrench to make it a little tighter.I then dried the shower thermostat outlet and wrapped the PTFE tape around the thread about 6 times. Once done I took the hose with the new valve attached and fitted it to the thread at the bottom of the shower outlet. Once finger tight I used my wrench to tighten it carefully.I then tested the shower to make sure everything was fitted correctly and that there were no leaks.I happy to say that the new valve is far far better than our old one. It can be operated easily and I think even someone with arthritis or joint pain would’ve find it too onerous to use.We have had no drips or leaks from the shower since installation and the valve looks like it will give us years of perfect service.
