WD Blue SA510 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD with up to 560MB/s read speed

Product arrived timeously and clearly good quality befitting the Western Digital brand image/promise. Once installed it works well, as expected. Install/usage instructions to install/use, etc. are not that great, got to say, and can be described as reasonably acceptable. No doubt at all that WD could/should have made the process a whole lot easier .... disappointing. As WD and SanDisk are now clearly part of the same group and it therefore needs to be clearly explained (PLEASE NOTE, WD!) that SanDisk is now the lead brand / product and that, for instance, management of WD products seem to clearly be via the use of SanDisk software, etc. Thus, a whole lot of "greyness" pervades around the implications of both these brand names existing within the same company. I would imagine that non-techie / newbies to SSD installation to replace their HDD's would find this process unnecessarily difficult. One has to ask the question why the greyness around this modern, popular SSD usage, etc. to replace one's older technology HDD's? Weird ... Deserved criticisms aside, as mentioned, the WD SSD is good value and, once properly installed, works well. Newbies can trust the delivery of this WD SSD but will be a little challenged in finalising the installation/usage/management process. As a new, working SSD therefore, once properly installed, I can recommend the quality, speed and expected reliability expected from the WD brand name/promise. Make sure, however, that you go through the frustrating, clunky process of registering the disk, otherwise any possible future failures will not be honoured.

Great works as it should no problems.

There’s an important firmware update for these drives and without it the SSD can one day decide to stop working, despite being unused. I bought two of these and one died on me, and took all of the data. Luckily I had a backup, but not everyone does. I found out about the firmware update after it died. Amazon refunded me for the faulty drive and I updated the firmware on the other working drive. It’s been ok since then, so it seems the firmware update does the job, as long as you know about it and install it! Other than that, these are decent drives, albeit a little pricey but you’re paying for the label I guess.

Just the job very easy to fit and after a clean installation of Windows I noticed an improvement right away the PC boots up very quickly and there is now plenty of space on the C: drive I went for this model as it was an upgrade from my 1TB drive that I now use as an extra internal drive very happy with this purchase never had a problem with this brand

It works well

We have purchased two of the 1TB drives. They both appeared to be genuine disks in official packaging but they both failed within a few months of use, Western Digital support was contact for a warranty return only for us to be advised these are not genuine WD products. Needless to say we will not be purchasing computer components from amazon again.

Necesitaba de manera urgente tener mas espacio en mi PC de escritorio, pero de base, 2 TB ya no eran suficientes para mi caso. Este modelo de SSD SATA es el mejor del mercado.

Recibido en plazo. Perfectamente compatible con ACRONIS, aunque tenéis que tener paciencia en el último paso porque le cuesta más de 20 minutos detectar el disco de destino. Una vez detectado, ACRONIS restaura la información de origen muy rápidamente. Yo, en mi caso, antes de ejecutar ACRONIS ya creé las particiones de disco, por si las necesitara previamente a la detección. Aún así ACRONIS restauró mi viejo SSD de 500Gb muy cómodamente. El disco es perfecto y para las funciones que yo exijo a mi ordenador (gestión, programación web y aplicaciones de escritorio, edición de vídeo y audio) es muy rápido.
