Question 1

Accepted Answer

No. They do not come with potting soil.

Question 2

Does it really like what the reviews say, this product has that many design problems?

Accepted Answer

I'm very sorry for asking you this question, it's my fault.
Answers to your questions: We are a production factory with a history of more than 40 years, which regards customer service and product quality as our life. We have the technical design patent right of this product. Currently, 99.99% of the same item on Amazon, in any color, is supplied from our factory.
While there may be slight differences in production, there will never be as obvious design flaws as pointed out in the reviews. The water level gauges need to be spliced together. If the splicing is not tight, the overall length will be too long. Just continue splicing and it will be ok. Please follow the instructions.
In addition, we noticed that the reviewer shows that the product is gray, but the product used in the review is white. In Amazon's sales control center, I checked that the review is from a reviewer who did not purchase the product through Amazon .
If there is a problem with your purchase, please be sure to let me know, you can contact me by email, the way to contact me: please login your amazon account > choose Your orders> find the order ID > click Contact seller, We will do our best to service you!

Question 3

Will the water seep out from the bottom of the basin? I don't want it leaking onto my mat.

Accepted Answer

It is double layer pot. The outer basin has no drain hole at the bottom so should not be a problem. Plants and soil are placed in black inner pots. No seepage of water was found.

Question 4

How does this keep the soil moist if there is no wick?

Accepted Answer

Yes it keeps the soil moist without the need for wick. One of the design ideas of this flower pot is to support the inner pot and the plants through the piers of the inner pot (they are generally the thickest in the middle, and the pillars do not directly contact the bottom of the pot), and the water enters the pier through the gap on the pier. Soil or water-absorbing stone, so as to achieve the ability of stable water delivery to plant roots. If there is too much water at the roots of the plants, it will seep out to the reservoir at the bottom of the outer pot through the multiple ventilation holes at the bottom of the inner pot, and form air circulation, which can protect the roots. Please note: because the water level is too high, it will directly pass through the pier The column goes into the inner pot, so don't overwater, just follow the water level indicator.
