I have several blue grama grasses in my front yard that need annual trimming before winter. The grass shear did the trick, and how! It effortlessly trimmed the blue grama in minutes. It was so much easier than before. I also used the hedge trimmer on some other bushes around the yard with good results. I have two comments: 1) When you buy this unit, also purchase a spare battery or two, as the battery will only last about 15-20 minutes on a full charge. This will save you frustration. 2) This unit is light duty, and as a hedge trimmer you'll be limited to thin branches, let's say 1/8" or so in diameter. So, if you need a lightweight, easy to manuever unit with really sharp cutters, this unit is for you. Don't buy it for heavy duty work, and don't forget a spare battery. For me, this trimmer/shear works perfectly and totally exceeded my expectations!

I really needed some grass shears, but I'm arthritic and this set caught my eye. I read the reviews and thought I'd give it a go.I have to admit I'm really impressed! The battery had a decent charge on it when the set arrived, and I'm impatient, so I gave it a try. I didn't expect ANYTHING from the hedge trimmer attachment, but figured it would help in some of the larger areas where my lawn mower couldn't reach. I was SO disappointed. The hedge trimmer didn't work worth squat on the grass! So, I headed inside to try the grass blades and I have hollies on either side of my front porch, so I gave one of the hollies a half hearted pass. WOW! 1/4" and less, it went right through it! 1/4" was a bit tougher, but it made it. Then I got the grass blades. Double WOW! I spent the next hour trimming around some herbs I had set out, along the edge of the walk up to the front porch, around the light post by the driveway ... It just kept going! The emergency shut off works great (if you jam the blades), but be careful as the SIDE of the grass blades can cut YOU - I managed to bounce the head off of a fence post and it grazed my hand - the SIDE of the head! I do bleed very well, even from something that minor. But, I thought I would warn that it CAN cut.All in all, I've VERY pleased with the shears and hedge trimmer attachment. And it took very little time to bring the battery back up to full charge. My only complaint is that the instructions are not as clear as they could be. But, translations can be that way.
