Would you get the large for a puppy (goldendoodle)? Or start with the small one?

It sizes down pretty small! you could probably get the large or medium & it would work with all the fur!

I don’t see a neoprene handle. It looks like a nylon webbing to go around your wrist. Pictures do not show the handle grip. For large dog?

I got this for my large dog & I don’t recommend for large dogs. He ripped it first time I used it to walk him. My dog is too strong for this leash. I didn’t think it was made very durable for a Carhartt leash.

Perfect for any dog! We are a new puppy and leash walking was a bit of a learing curve. Having this longer leash allows for time to explore but also the ability to latch around your waist to walk hands free. Truly game changer in our walking routine and very happy about this buy! This honestly isn't just a generic lead with a carhartt badge stitched on. It's incredibly strong and controls my 40kg airedale terrier who is lead reactive. The clips on both end are ideal if you are using a head collar and neck collar to maintain control of larger dogs.
