No flamingos; some clips can't grip
I am really bummed that there's no flamingo print in my set. That was my deciding factor in selecting this product to review. But. Unlike the product photo, my set has no flamingo print. Alas.The ribbon bows are medium-sized grosgrain ribbon with metal alligator clip backs. It's just raw metal, not ribbon-covered. These work well for side clips (like my photo) or clipping over a ponytail in an elastic. These seem to hold well in the hair without sliding out.The flower bows also have alligator clips, but these ARE ribbon-covered. UNFORTUNATELY, the ribbon is applied a bit sloppy so that it covers up the metal teeth haphazardly. That makes the clips not really "stay" in hair, but just slide out. They don't have much gripping power in general. You'd be best clipping this over ponytail or pigtails in rubber bands and hoping your kid isn't active at all.Craftsmanship-wise, there are some crumpled areas and things that look cheap, but there's no messy glue or frayed areas or anything falling apart. All the rhinestones on mine were intact.Visually, I don't like the aesthetics of this set as much as I hoped. The combination of materials is a little cheap and garish.
