The colour codes for the wiring was a little confusing and I still haven't got my setting dialed in . The brakes work , D.O.T. is happy .

for the fair price i paid it was fairly easy to hook up and use although im still working on how to fully use it but so far the unit dose work i had tested it pullng a 5000 pound rv trailer up an down a hilly road and it kick in and seem to help a lot

The first one shipped was defective. It applied brakes all the time. Amazon came through as usual and zipped me out another one. I bought the optional pig tail so it was easy to replace. Unit works very well it’s much better than a simple timed one. Way less wear and tear on your trailer tires as it doesn’t apply a lot of brakes if it doesn’t need to. It senses how fast / hard your stopping and adjusted accordingly. The boost function adds even another layer of fine tuning so once all set up you won’t even know you have a trailer back there. It costs a bit more for this style as appose to the simple timed style but you will save that in trailer tire rubber. And this one was very cheap so it really wasn’t much more than the timed one anyway. Highly recommended. You could spend more but why? Oh and it doesn’t have to be mounted perfectly level it self adjusts itself.

I bought this to go in my truck one I got it installed I used it pulling my camper had no problems and it gave out plenty of out put would definitely recommend.
