Review: Great introduction to 35mm photography - A fun and inexpensive film camera with the added benefit of half frame operation meaning you get 72 photos out of a 36 exposure film etc. Although light and made out of plastic, it is reasonably robust and works well, requiring a battery only for the flash. A useful compact device that fits in a jacket pocket. Picture quality is not as sharp as more expensive types of film camera but are acceptable. Easy to use. A fine introduction to the world of 35mm film photography and an ongoing money saver. It certainly got me back into this type of photography and handy when you don’t want to lug a bag of lenses etc around.

**Q: I'm a grandma buying this camera for my college granddaughter. which film should i buy for her to get started? i know it needs 35mm, but i'm confused.**
A: For color, I like FUJIFILM Fujicolor Superia X-TRA 400. For black and white, I like Kodak Professional Tri-X 400. Both of them are about $13 per roll. It could be cheaper (say $9) if you could find local camera stores. Be careful to double-check that the film you buy is 35mm (it is called 135 sometimes), not 120. For a 36-exposure roll, you can take at least 72 photos. Sometimes you will see 24-exposure rolls, which can give you 48 photos. Hope it helps!

**Q: Does the window for the film count up or down?**
A: It counts up, but the numbers are very tiny.

**Q: Is the leather used synthetic or not?**
A: It is not real leather. This is a plastic camera that is made to look retro.

**Q: Does this camera strictly shoot half-frame or is it capable of shooting full-frame as well?**
A: It is strictly half-frame.  The only control option you have is to turn on or turn off the flash.  Everything else is fixed.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product but not perfect

The experience of the KODAK is pretty great. The "two for one" nature of the portrait exposure style (allowing twice as many shots per roll) is really great for those looking to save on film, which suits the purpose well as this itself is a budget camera. The photos are often enjoyable and stylish, and it is a cheap and effective way to regain the joyful experience of film in your life, where you get to relive weeks if not months of experiences all over again when you get the roll developed. My only complaints are these : if you forget to turn off the "flash on" setting once you've used it, the battery will drain. A feature where, once the photo is taken, the flash on automatically disengages might be preferable. Additionally, it definitely suffers in low light and anything being taken in low light should be close subject that can be lit by the flash. Lastly, on a sunny day these exposures look really great, and I would personally say this is the best use case for it. A camera to quickly record cherished memories in the day time.
