Q: does the mask have a purge?

The one I have does NOT have a purge valve. I simply inhale and pull the base of the mask away a bit and exhale through my nose. No problem. I have a ruptured eardrum. I put a wax plug in that ear, then use the Pro Ear mask. I did 24 dives since the eardrum rupture, as deep as 90 feet. No problems. Obviously, you need to be a bit cautious with this condition, but it worked for me. Good luck.

Yes, I use this mask while teaching scuba and have been using it for over 20+ years. I have short hair around the ears so removing the mask and putting it back on is not difficult if you take your time. The only difference is when you clear water from the mask, you also have to use your thumbs to push against the ear cups or the air escapes from the ear cups instead of the mask. Your middle fingers will be pushing against the top of the mask to ensure water is being pushed out from the bottom of the mask. As a warning, the silicone will yellow long before you stop using the mask. My second one was the all black version to avoid this.
