Rustic Folk Art for the Bed
This cotton coverlet comes in a fantasy floral print, with many different color backgrounds. I settled on the grey to counterbalance the vivid floral motifs. As other reviewers mentioned, this is a "cool" grey, leaning toward dusty blue. My purchased pillowcases that are called slate, match the spread very well. I am using this as a touch of color, here in the Pacific Northwest, as our daylight is short, and skies are often overcast. Rather than buy the matching sham, for a toss pillow, I ordered a mixed set of five, guessing that two or three would likely compliment this coverlet. I alternate the solid, grey side where the running stitches are done in mostly aqua or green threads, and use three printed pillow covers, in black, hot pink and turquoise; and when I use the print side facing up, I use my slate pillowcases, for two very different looks.I removed one star because of the strong odor upon opening the tightly bundled item. I draped it outside, on my covered porch for two days, and the small was still strong. Finally, I washed it, in cool water, very mild liquid detergent, and no fabric softener. It came out of the dryer just fine, and is on my bed now.I wanted something that looked hand made, and a little bit exotic, and this coverlet meets my expectations. This queen size is very generous on my double bed, which has an extended platform frame.

Not gray, but that's okay
I purchased the "grey" kantha, and, frankly, the only grey portion is the backing. The photo I'm including neutralizes the overall color a bit; it's much more vivid. The overall background is actually teal, very close to the color of the pillowcases you can see here, but loads of sunlight coming through the windows effected the hue. I've included a second photo of the "matching" grey pillow I ordered. It actually is grey, and I'm going to be content with the contrast. All that being said, I'm very happy with it, and like the look. People who criticize the stitching simply don't get the idea that's it's a craft product, hand-made, and traditional. It's very good value for the money. I only hope that the craftswomen who make these get their fair share.

more blue than gray but still beautiful
Before going into any details, I'll state up front that I love this quilt. The colors and print are absolutely stunning and it's the perfect weight for a summer bedspread. It looks like something you'd see at an expensive, hipster store but for a reasonable price. Having said that, it's more of a slate blue than gray, in my opinion. It's darker than it appears in this listing (which is fine for me) and the sewing is very... rustic. I expect to have to be making repairs throughout the life of this throw since plenty of threads seem loose. I also had to wash it twice before using it because it had an odd musty smell. Having washed it on delicate/cool and then air dried it as well as putting in the dryer on a delicate/low setting, it has thankfully lost the funky odor. While I realize it sounds like a lot of negatives here for a four star review, I love the print so much that it overrides the glitches. I'd definitely recommend this item to anyone who is okay with having to do some hand sewing in the future and I'll probably be back to buy another.

An Attractive Addition to Our Bedroom
A lovely bedspread, it provides a needed splash of color in our bedroom. It seems reasonably well crafted and covers the sides of a very deep queen-sized mattress and box spring set when rotated 90 degrees -- with enough left in length to cover the pillows generously. Our background color seems slightly bluer than the shade of grey illustrated, but still to good effect. It's quite well priced in comparison with similar Kantha bedspreads we've seen in the shops.

I wouldn’t describe this as “grey”
I have the orange version of this quilt, but it’s beginning to fall apart (they’re very thin and flimsy). I ordered this grey one to replace it, but I was surprised by the color — very dark, nearly navy blue. It will still work for our purposes as an oversized recliner cover, but it doesn’t go as well with our decor. I ordered the supposedly grey pillowcases too, so I hope they match this color.

I love this spread
I love this spread!! It is lightweight. I love the pattern of the material and the stitching. It is different and cheerful and well worth the price. The only thing I would add is that the colors as pictured are just a tad brighter than the actual colors. It is a minor deviation and I still love how it looks. Also, it had a slight weird smell to it when the plastic wrap was removed. I am going to wash it and hopefully it will disappear.

Not happy with stitching
This is more like a floral sheet with hand stitching-which on mine has many areas where the stitching is broken so washing it I'm sure the stitching will fall apart (see photo). It is a pretty pattern but over priced for what you get. A thin coverlet

Even prettier than the picture (and the pic. is good)
This bedspread (kantha stitched) is absolutely beautiful. I needed several summer blankets for the very hot summers where I Iive. I cut this very large kantha in half and now have two blankets to use. I still can't get over how beautiful the fabric is. The colors are so vibrant. I washed it on the hand-wash cycle in my washer before using it, and it dried beautifully in my dryer on low setting (if you're worried about threads coming loose, you may want to let it line/air dry; I know how to fix the stitches if they come loose, so I wasn't concerned about that). I slept under it last night, and it was just the right weight for sleeping in hot weather. (If you leave it in one piece and fold it over on itself, it is good for chillier nights.) Truly a great buy and beautiful too.

Somewhat disappointed
Lovely blanket. Will be perfect for the summer, except for 1 problem. It arrived with having been cut right through both layers of fabric (probably unintentionally with scissors by whomever made it), and then it l had some sort of hard yellow, yucky looking substance covering and surrounding the decent sized cut in the fabric . So I'm thinking it maybe glue to possibly stop the cut fabric from fraying (sort of like fray check). So that was somewhat of a disappointment. But I've decided to give it a good wash, and try to repair/ patch the blanket, as I do sew, and then use it anyways.

Beautiful colour, perfect weight
Exactly as expected. As others have mentioned, the backing is more of a blue grey.
