Question 1

Have you thought about selling a cloth/plastic case for this? I would keep this in my purse, so I can use it anywhere. A case would keep it clean.

Accepted Answer

Thank you for reaching out to us here at HiccAway and for your great question. We are in development of a case to store your HiccAway and would like to have something out in the near future. If you are not currently following us on social media, I invite you to join us, as we will release more details about the case as it develops. Thank you again for your wonderful question and we look forward to seeing you on Facebook Instagram, Twitter or YouTube.

Question 2

Does this product require one to drink water to use it?

Accepted Answer

HiccAway is most effective when both the vagus and phrenic nerves are stimulated. The vagus nerve is stimulated by the pressure differential, and the phrenic nerve is stimulated when we swallow. In other words, HiccAway is most effective when a small amount of water is swallowed. Other customers have found relief without water, but that generally is not ideal.

Question 3

I get stubborn cases sometimes that wake me up in the middle of the night, does this help with stubborn cases?

Accepted Answer

Does not prevent - should cure the incident. You might try a triangle pad under your pillow to ease the tubing in your neck.

Question 4

When you're sucking on the straw, should you be inhaling or exhaling?

Accepted Answer

You should be inhaling. You want the unit to go from virtually empty, to full of water, and then swallow, repeating 2-3 times. The goal is to lower the diaphragm through powerful suction, and swallow, in close proximity.
