Simple and super-fast
I was looking at this scanner and another on Amazon, and I bought this one. Later, I realized the other scanner has the same software, but a smaller screen. They both cost about the same, so this was obviously a better deal! The instructions are a little hard to read because I think they were translated from another language, but at least you get instructions. I had problems getting the DataTools software to work with my version of Excel, but then I tried using a CSV file instead of XLSX, and that worked fine. My test CSV file didn't want to import without at least 2 rows, which hung me up when testing until I figured that out. The thing I like most about this scanner is how fast it is and how good it is at reading barcodes. I used mine to scan hundreds of barcodes for items that are stored in a plaster wrapper. My old scanner would barely read the barcode through the plastic. This one is so fast, I thought it couldn't possibly be working! It actually works really great. This wasn't something I was expecting for such an inexpensive barcode scanner. For the price, I think the only drawback to this scanner is the documentation. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to pick on whoever wrote the manual. It's just sounds like it was written in another language and then lost some of the info in the translation. It's too bad the source-code for DataTools wasn't open source. I'd like to tweak it a little to suit my business needs. I wish I could scan the location, like "shelf 4", then scan all the items on shelf 4 and have that as a prefix to each code on that shelf.

Decent WMS features For Base OS
These are decent units, but please do not buy thinking it is a direct "live" connection to your database (POS, ERP, et cetera). They can integrate with whatever you build a linking data set you set up for it specifically. This can be XLS, CSV, Text, Access DB et cetera type scenario. You would set up your source and upload it to the device and work with it from there. This will be its data set. If you wanted an integration, you could download it from the unit (in your data set) and import from there. Currently, we are working on a situation very much like that now with an ERP system. We are building a middle wear is the goal to automate the whole process. But that is a more complex ideology then most, but this will service a very large, scaled database system. I am impressed with the out of box functionality of the embedded OS in the unit for the price point. Overall, the unit is well rounded in how they achieved the end product. It also scans from screens quite well too. The speed and accuracy of the unit is excellent. My only concern and they are common on multi badged items from foreign markets is tech support, and software updates. I wish these manufacturers would simply create self-service portals and use your model and serial number as logins. Then if one "sell/clone/mfg." goes belly up you can still go direct to the actual manufacturer and get everything you need still. Because the seller who badges as a maker went under does not mean the buyer should be stuck. This is a new line seller and have reached out for more technical documentation and lifecycle information. Waiting to see how the overall tech support process goes. I currently gave the tech support aspect 3 stars due to there is no sources for information online as alternatives anywhere. The only source is thru their 163 (NetEase) email system. If they are very forthcoming and helpful i will update this at that time. I do hope they are as we are attempting to build something pretty well rounded with their product and could lead to us purchasing many more. Overall, I am very pleased with the unit. Hoping to purchase a large number more if we can make this project of ours work. Even with our Dev time it will be worthwhile in the end of the venture. As love the vibration feature in hand, and wireless range is excellent too. In the end I would defiantly recommend this unit. Especially for the sweet price point and flexibility we have.

Service is poor
I purchased these scanners to read stacked barcodes. I was told they could convert the barcodes to a specific number of digits after almost a month of fooling around they told me they could not do so. I had to ask several times to get one reasonable answer. Very disappointed

Nice simple data collector
Nice and simple but you must use barcodes

A little hard to use
The instruction for the product is not that easy to read and understand. Working as a regular scanner is easy, just plug and play, but I can easily get plug and play scanner for much cheaper. The other features, are not that easy. In term of value, this is a 1D barcode scanner, and there is similar 2D scanner (even from the same brand) that are just slightly more expensive, so the value for the 1D is not too good.

Superior to other models, for certain applications
I am reviewing the product "Sumicor Inventory Data Terminal Barcode Scanner 1D Wireless CCD Barcode Reader" on 9 March 2023 This barcode reader is in league above the typical products in this category, with only minor limitations but major features unique to this price point. The strengths of this device are in its comprehensive feature set in support of inventory applications. Not merely a code reader, this device can store codes in its memory either by scanning or keypad input. If connected to a PC (USB and wireless dongle are the connectivity options) you have the option of sending codes directly to the PC. Untethered, up to 10,000 codes can be stored in memory and transmitted later. One can review the scanned codes on the colorful and very readable display screen and edit or delete codes as needed. A "unique" function can optionally suppress recording of codes already in memory. An "inventory" mode allows multiple scans of a code to serve as inventory counts. These counts can be transmitted along with the codes. The list of scanned codes can be queried on-device and count updates made either by scan or keypad input. A pre-defined item database can be uploaded to the scanner and then queried: scan the code, and get the associated data. Export formats can be defined on the device so the data received by the PC can be imported into applications in their expected format, without an intervening conversion. In my use, I found the scanner to be highly accurate and fast, easily meeting or exceeding the speed and reliability of any other model I compared it to. I made great use of the display, for confirming scans and reviewing the list before exporting. I also appreciated the keypad input mode, which was perfect for situations where an item I was trying to scan had a very mangled barcode, or no barcode at all. While I did not have use for some of the more extensive inventory-specific functions, a cursory check of these features showed the device just as intuitive and reliable as with more general code scanning applications. The form factor is like holding a large mobile phone or remote control in the hand. I appreciated the size and ergonomic curves that made it very easy to hold the scanner comfortably. The only missing feature is bluetooth wireless connectivity, a nearly-standard feature on modern barcode scanners, and one whose omission here is puzzling, but not a major fail. The USB dongle works well as does direct USB connection, and I only missed bluetooth when I was away from my main PC. While not a necessity, including Bluetooth would have made a great product just that much better. The provided "Wireless Inventory Scanner User Manual" is a breath of fresh air compared to manuals from many of its competitors. The "Sumicor" scanner is a quality product, and is supported with a quality manual; clearly its designers allocated time, budget, and care to produce a legible and genuinely helpful document of its use. Configuration of this device is made via the display and keypad, in contrast with other scanners which are configured by scanning codes in the manual. I found the Sumicor's arrangement preferable, since adjustments can be made "in the field" when one does not have the manual handy. I have trialed at least a half-dozen different barcode scanners recently, and the "Sumicor" model has become my hands-down favorite. It Is packed with features, albeit some I am unlikely to use in my application, and its lack of bluetooth keeps it just a hair's breadth from perfection, but its flexibility, durability, and excellent screen make it a superb choice for a variety of applications calling for a handheld scanner. Highly recommended.
