A fraction of the price of the official Microsoft dock, this is a really useful addition to the Surface Pro. EDIT Update. All was fine, until I knocked it, and it fell apart. Turns out, you get what you pay for. Who knew?Just in case the weird way Microsoft chose to stand up the Surface wasn't awkward enough, they put the only usb port way up high, so (in my experience) whatever is connected tends to wobble and have a bad connection. Great for hard disk transfers. Not. This docking station is firmly located by two connections, the existing USB 3 port on the Surface, and the proprietary port a bit further up. Now the connection is rock solid.The dock multiplies the USB ports, which is tremendously helpful. You can also connect a micro SD card and a regular SD card at the same time. This unit has made it a lot easier to be productive with the Surface. Money well spent. I should say that unlike the Microsoft unit, this device doesn't have it's own power supply, but draws power from the Surface itself. So if you want to connect something that draws a lot of power, another power source might be required. Don't forget the update, after knocking it accidentally it fell apart and stopped working

Ordered the right one, still didn’t fit

Product broke within 2 months. Not covered by Amazon returns also need to navigate complicate supplier guarantee. Would not recommend.

I was so delighted to have all the ports I needed and a hdmi that worked. Then it all stopped. If I wiggle the connection the LED blinks but that's it. Just a piece of junk I'm afraid to say.

As per previous reviews it’s about 1mm out so doesn’t fit, can’t comment on whether any good or not!

I cannot use it at home as I use the Surface Pro Hub charger witch has a larger power connector.The Advert for the docking station did not make this clear
