Oh how I've yearned to have this cute little addition to my cat toy collection for eons. Finally I bit the bullet and I am so glad that I did! I'm not sure who likes it more the cat or myself but we both sit there and just watch that cute little mousy go around its track and it is the cutest little mouse I've ever seen in my entire life! Plus, you can set it so that it can go around the track in different incremental amounts of time. It is a little bit noisy but it makes up for its cuteness and absolute uniqueness so I obliterate that negativity and give it a five-star and highly recommend just for the sake of having such a wonderful toy! I'm so glad that after all these years I finally bought The Mouse in the House 🥰

The good news is my cat loved it. The bad news is that it took him all of two days (!) to break the mouse. The mouse is not unbreakable. I had walked out of the room for a few minutes and came back with him looking very pleased with himself batting the detached mouse around. And now the cat is upset it is broken and is howling at me. Also, other reviews are right that it does sound like a freight train in terms of noise level, so I had to put it in a corner. Sooo… I’ll probably get a replacement mouse and will have to supervise him more closely.

My cat ADORES this toy. As soon as the mouse chirps, she appears and hovers over the house. She'll plant herself on the tracks to block the mouse and will drag the house all over, hoping to get that wily mouse when it disappears. When it broke after a year of heavy use, I had to buy a replacement because my cat was heartbroken without it. This is a nice toy to have for automation. I wish there was a way to set track repetitions or time. Often, my cat likes to play with it for four-five rounds and the timer setting will only send the mouse around twice. Expensive? Yes. But it's durable and gets much use, so I think it's worth the price.

After looking on line for weeks for the best buy, I should have known to go straight to Amazon, anyway, My cat opened it up on Christmas morning, and after I hooked it up, has been playing with it almost non stop, till today, I turned it on, and the mouse didn't come around all the way after the first time, then it came around, but buy the third rotation, the motor started sounding weird and the mouse quit comeing around for good. IT IS BROKE!!!!! I have to admit, that out of all the cat toys I have EVER purchased, this one was the best. I am just very very sad for my kids. (cats) Even my 7 1/2 year old cat who only played with small catnip toys got in on this one. Mouse in the House is a great concept, just needs to be built a little more hardiar, for I really enjoyed watching the kids play with it every day. Everyday for only 17 days!!!

I was so excited about this product and upon receiving it, I have mixed feelings. First off, this is a really great price. I've been looking at this for a long time, but couldn't stomach the price Petco wanted for this. I have two cats and ordered this mostly for my younger one. He absolutely loves this and is obsessed with it. He's been very destructive with his other toys and so far, the mouse holds up very well (minus one ear that was an early casualty). He flips the unit several times, but has yet to figure out how to get the mouse off the track. As other reviewers mentioned, it is very noisy--not a big deal while I'm gone, but enough of a turn off for my older cat to not come close enough to even play with it. However, the noise didn't even phase my younger one so this wasn't too much of an issue for me. My reason for giving this only 1 star is because when we received this, it was broken. Similar to another review, the timer function does not work. I was once able to get the screen to at least start flashing, but I was not able to set it nor does the red button on the front work for the cat to activate it. It has been this way since we received it and after multiple attempts to try to fix this in my spare time this past month, I've given up on it. The only option to use this (which I have been doing to allow them to play with it for brief periods) is to turn it on manually. However, this doesn't really work very well unless I'm sitting right there to turn it back off when my cat is done with it which kind of defeats the purpose of using this as a way to keep my cats stimulated while I'm out of the house at work. I was not able to return this--although in all fairness, this is perhaps my fault for not following up on it before the 30 day window expired. I kept hoping that somehow I could fix it or just wasn't working it right and that I wouldn't have to do so. However, I was really disappointed to find out that I had missed the return window by literally one day.

Had a problem with the first product sent not working but the replacement seems fine. To those wondering about this product my cat loves it. (Note: I do make sure to keep her front claws clipped though - just to be sure they don't ever get caught while attempting to grab the mouse + IMPORTANT: - Make sure you don't cut your cat's quick when clipping nails!! ). My cat actually has learned to operate it herself by tapping the large red button - located right near where the mouse comes out through a little door (so cats initially - inadvertently graze the button - setting the toy going - as they try to grab behind the door to get the mouse again!) :D. ... soon realizing it's the button that does the trick! I've noticed that, in addition to using the toy to watch and grab at the mouse, she also uses it to calm herself when she's in one of those energy spurts. Also, believe it or not - if I happen to be distracted with something else and it's time for her meal - she'll, on occasion, walk over to the toy, smack that red button, set the mouse going and look up at me like **"hello, I'm hungry!" So cute and the only toy she hasn't gotten bored with. The last one I had lasted a few years and the first replacement wasn't right, but now we're happy with it again. To me, it was worth the momentary glitch in waiting. The price is also worth it to me; very creative, cat savvy idea for a toy! 😺 ** Note: she doesn't smack it to the point where it's annoying to me at all - just one smack to communicate if/ when "necessary". 😹

I'm torn about the stars -- this toy is a hit with my kitty, but not durable. My energetic and smarty-pants kitty is hard to please when it comes to toys. I ordered this in mid October, and it immediately became his favorite toy. HE LOVES IT. He figured out how to turn it on himself in just three days. As others have mentioned, it is quite loud, which is a significant drawback when you live in a small apartment and can't escape the noise. Mine will also only go around for 2 cycles, which completes in about 10 - 15 seconds, which is also a drawback if you're looking for your kitty to be entertained for at least a few solid minutes while you try to make dinner. Alternately, however, sometimes it gets stuck and will be jammed in the on position and will go and go and go until I turn it off. I never know when that is going to happen. When he catches the toy, it is even louder-- you can hear the little motor protesting furiously, but it seemed to hold up ok-- more or less-- until last week. Now the toy is catching or getting stuck in random spots along the loop, not just at the restart spot in the back (accessible via a little pop off door). I unscrewed the entire back yesterday to try to fix, but the problem may be with the track underneath, so I'll need to get a different screwdriver to get to that section. The whole time my kitty was climbing into my lap, desperate to play with it, poor guy. I got roughly 2.5 months of use out of a rather expensive toy, but he loves it. I hope I can fix it, I can't spend $30+ dollars every few months on a toy that is going to keep breaking, no matter how much he loves it.

My cat likes this toy, but not sure if it's worth what I paid for it. Until/Unless you can teach your cat how to activate the toy itself, you have to sit on the floor with him/her and keep hitting the button to turn it on. Also, after it running for quite some time, the mouse started to get stuck and wouldn't come out of the oven door without tapping on the side of the unit. And...the motor is very loud, not sure why. It's a cute toy and my cat likes to play with it, but I don't think I would pay as much as I did for it.
