Amazing Sound and Comfort
I have been using a Klipsch S4i since Feb 2010. Last Feb, my Klipsch stopped working because the cable pulled out of the jack. It was time to go shopping for a new pair of Headphones/ear buds. I started my hunt with a pair of Monster Turbine. I was not impressed by the sound of the Turbines (even after about 100 Hrs of Burn-in). At first, I thought that it was may be the fit. I ordered the Comply Foam tips. The audio improved but it was not just there yet. Then I ordered a pair of Nox Audio Scout. The NOX was thin on bass and didn't match up with the sound I was used to from my S4i. I tried liking them, but I gave up on them. Then it was the turn of the Klipsch Image One. These sounded just like the S4i but I am not a fan of the over the ear or on ears. Finally, I came across the nuForce Ne-700 on the Head-fi.org forums. It had great reviews on Head-fi. A bit skeptical to begin with, for a company I had never heard of before. I took a chance and ordered them. They were delivered within 3 days and I was excited to try them on. Out of them box, they sounded great with a lot richer and wider Soundstage. AFter about 50 hrs of Burn-in, the Bass has opened up to a great extent. The Bass is deep and has the Punch! I could feel the vibration of the nuforce on bass heavy songs. The Bass tends to be deep and fuller without being muddy or muffled. The mids are crisp and clear. I no longer miss my Klipsch S4.The Microphone works with the Samsung Focus and the Galaxy series. The button works as described to answer a call or Pause/skip the song. This is a welcome as the buttons on the S4i don't work with the Samsung Focus/Galaxy series. For the price, the NuForce are an excellent option if you are in search of a pair of high quality earbuds. At the end of my 2 month hunt, I am left with a pair of Monster Turbines, Nox Audio Scout, Klipsch Image one and the NuForce NE-700M. The nuForce are staying and the rest will be finding their way to ebay!

Great Sound / Poor Construction
I purchased the NuForce NE-700M audiophile earphones after purchasing my NuForce uDAC that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately I ended up sending these headphones back after the first day of use. After un-boxing the product I was initially impressed with the packaging and appearance of these headphones. I proceeded to pick out the ear buds that fit the best and loved the feel of the 3 tier in ear plugs that fit snug and isolated sound very well. The first downfall of this product would have to be the microphone. The microphone itself works very well but the buttons are cheap in feel and actual quality. They only adjust the (Play, Pause, and Forward) functions on my I pod. This was very disheartening to me but I figured that I could live with it because the sound was great! After I used the headphones for a day I started to notice a click in the left ear and thought it was just a fluke but after further examination of the product I realized that the cord was not secured to the base of the headphone. This allowed the connection to move around which created the poor sound in the left ear. The right ear bud is held in place by a red ring which indicates that it's the right earphone. NuForce could have easily avoided this issue by placing a blue ring on the left earphone which would have stopped the play in the cord. After reading further reviews on Amazon I discovered that I wasn't the first to have this issue so be WARNED! I do need to give NuForce credit for having AMAZING customer service! My headphones were returned with ease which will keep me a dedicated NuForce customer despite this poor experience. I just hope that they improve upon these headphones SOON!

Are they fixed yet?
Great sound quality, unfortunately there was a design flaw that caused the failure of 3 pairs in less than 3 months. Same failure each time, usually one or both phones would lose connectivity and stop working. I could here minor distortion prior to the failure and got to the point when I knew one of the phones was about to drop. NuForce customer service was excellent and provided replacement with free shipping without a quibble. They have since gone thru a redesign and would assume they have fixed the phone failure problem but they have also nearly doubled the price which knocked them off my "give'm another chance" list. Too bad, without going into their sound profile in detail they are great sounding phones with excellent range and definition. There are too many other choices on the market in their segment that don't have the tainted past to overcome and are much better know to the consumer.
