Larger, more round than Expected
It would definitely help clarify the shape of the oval if the Seller provided the circumference dimensions in the description, not just the overall length of the mandrel.The reason I give this 3 stars is that I was hoping the narrow end of this oval mandrel would be smaller, in the range of 2mm by 3.5mm. Instead it is 5.7mm by 6.54mm. Also the measurement on the small end is less than 1 mm difference between the narrow part of the oval and the wider part, meaning that its not very oval, it's almost round. The entire mandrel lacks the definite oval shape I'd hoped for. Midway up the mandrel the measurement I get is 9mm by 10.3mm. At the top just below the notch the measurement is 10.6mm by 12.3mm.On the plus side, the steel is nicely machined, very smooth. I'm sure I will get use of the mandrel, just not for shaping wire in as oval a shape as I had hoped.
