It's a little thicker, a little heavier than a regular Android tablet, and a normal cover wouldn't work. Possibly a large universal tablet cover would work. She wouldn't need a rugged tablet but this one had other specs she wanted like a 22000 mAh battery. We use our tablets a lot daily for study, research, and entertainment. She finds the tablet plus this stand a little bulky and inconvenient but I think that's because the tablet itself is large and heavy. The stand itself is good quality. It has several angle settings and holds even a larger tablet well.
