I bought this because one of our toilets would randomly keep running and it was driving me insane. I kept jiggling the handle, adjusting things inside the tank, and trying temporary fixes until I finally decided to just replace the flapper. Problem solved immediately. Installation was straightforward and only took a few minutes. Once installed, the toilet stopped constantly running and has been working normally ever since. The Fluidmaster 502P21 works great. I had to troubleshoot it a couple of times at first, but that ended up being my chain adjustment, not a product issue. Once I set the chain right, it flushed perfectly. My toilet used to do those annoying “midnight runs” because the old flapper seeped and let water run all day and night. The 502P21 completely stopped that. No more random refills, no more wasted water. If you’re dealing with water seeping around the flapper and you’ve already wasted money on other brands that didn’t fix the problem, I definitely recommend this one. It solved the issue and everything’s working fine now.

My toilet USED to have an annoying little trickle, but otherwise it worked fine. I, being a genius, decided to "fix" it. I decided to replace the flapper with a brand new one, and this new flapper works fine - as long as I hold it down with my finger. As soon as I let go, the flapper starts letting water into the bowl. It's a seal; it should seal properly. That was my one expectation of this product. On the plus side, the installation was very easy. e: I weighed it down with some nickels and let it sit overnight, and it seems to be sealing completely now. I'm not sure what made the difference.

Just what I needed. I specifically needed a clip-on flapper (no room to slide the connector over a post). Works fine, at a reasonable cost.

I bought this because I had a leaky toilet. The rubber was deteriorating. This was a great replacement. Pretty easy to install. Does this job is a good flapper my toilet it's been operational for quite some time now because of this and I didn't have to pay somebody to do it.

Perfect replacement. If you're looking at this I imagine you know what it is. The old one had become hard over time and so didn't form a good seal. As a result there was a constant leak from cistern into toilet bowl. This in turn meant a fill up every 10 minutes or so which irritated me and was also a waste of water. Replaced it in about 30 seconds - not fiddly at all and works great. Lets see how long this one lasts. If it's less than 2 years I'll come back and knock a star off.

It is exactly as depicted. The plastic is fairly thick for what it is, so considering its placement I think it will last a very very long time. The one we had prior was entirely made of rubber and it had sagged and torn over time, leaving an endless flow of water that racked up an extra $50/m on our city bill. Putting this on was SUPER easy, I am a woman (and certainly not a plumber) and I had no problem clicking it into place or attaching the chain to the lever. I love the price, very fair. As mentioned, the top cap is plastic, but I find that beneficial. Firstly, it will not sag as the old one did. Secondly, it makes movement easy, as its quick to lift and quick to drop. Mind you this toilet is in my young children's room, so they need something that doesnt require excess effort to flush. Highly recommend.
