I've bought several sets of these. I broke the first set. This was NOT the fault of the magnets or the manufacturer, it was my fault in not handling them properly.Their instructions clearly say to keep them 2 feet apart. If you don't listen to that, and they snap together, they'll shatter. They're magnets. It's what they do.Also follow the instructions and use a table edge or some such thing to slide them apart. Don't let them get close to a metal you don't want them to snap to.These things are VERY strong. For my uses that's a good thing.Remember these are a material that you might not be used to using. Just like when painting, you need to learn how to handle your tools and materials before you can use them properly.

I've used more powerful magnets in the past (Potentially mess up Mechanical hard drives, break fingers and all that fun stuff) but don't underestimate these because they're smaller, if you're not careful you can easily break the magnets into dozens of lovely sharp pieces, give yourself blood blisters, nock stuff off the table, etc. But good strong magnets for lots of different & useful projects.

I ordered the N45 3" x 1/2" x 1/4" 4 Pack and they arrived with thin 1/4” plastic spacers between them and wrapped in multiple layers of cardboard.To separate them you have to use a lot of force to twist them apart even with the plastic spacers in place. Please be very careful as even at some distance they will still attract and snap together. This happened twice to me and it pinched my skin which was not pleasant.When I went to put them back together on purpose, this time I was extremely cautious but I guess not enough as they snapped together again and this time it broke one of the magnets.The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is not because of the magnets but because of the packaging. It would have been nice if they came in individually protected cases to prevent them from being damaged in the manor explained above.

These magnets are very strong. IF you lose the plastic dividers that keep the magnets separated, you will have a very hard time separating them. I had to wedge screwdrivers between them and insert the plastic divider bit by bit until I could pull the magnets apart. If you want really strong magnets, buy these!

Very strong as stated in the header. But durability is horrible. Be careful when putting them side by side. Haven't even field tested them and already had a mishap. When it shattered, luckily debris didnt hit us in the eye. Dont recommend around kids. Mishap happened as soon as I took them out the package

Very strong magnet- I'm using it to hold a cold smoke attachment for my Masterbuilt smoker. It works just fine.
