Nice feel, good sustain
Ok so I'm usually playing bass, and I was asked to fill in on lead guitar. Not my norm but did it well IMHO. Anyways, I'm accustomed to running 9s on my electric, and 10s for my acoustic. I took a chance on 10.5s because I was in a pinch, i.e. while practicing a few days before the event, my strings broke and local stores were out. I'm glad I did. Love their brightness as thar was what was needed for our set list on the lead solos. These sustain very nicely even when added to a reverb pedal, comfortable to play and don't knife edge my fingers much. Like I said, I use 10s on my acoustic. I fitted my squire strat with them, tuned up, did the trick. Great strings for the price, I'll even put them up against ddardios that I usually use, as all my other guitars are fitted with. Time will tell how long they last, as I stated before, I'm usually on bass. None the less, great set of strings, sound good, feel good and didn't burn a hole on my wallet.

Wow, what a difference!
So I have been using primarily D'Addario strings for the last 5 years and used Dean Markley for around 25 years before that. The other day I had my guitar set up by a friend and I forgot to order strings. He put GHS Boomers 9-42's on my Les Paul to my dismay but it was what it was and they felt pretty good so I was fine with it. When I got home and plugged it in I couldn't believe the difference in sustain, over all level and warm/bright extremely friendly sound I was getting from these strings.I'm old and set in my ways and really don't like changing what works but damnit man, these are some great strings for the price. I recently ordered two more sets for my Tele and Peavey. Haven't strung up the Tele yet but my Peavey sounds just as good to me as the LP did. Will definitely be using these going forward and may try the Nickel Rockers. Unless they don't stand up to the abuse I put them through, (bending) over time, these are my new "Go To" brand.

Solid, reliable, punchy and toothy
Boomers saw me through my late 70s Cali rock , 80s hair metal, blues, 90s new wave eras. Both on Les Pauls and Telecasters. I'm not real picky about brands. Just feel and sound. I user their 0.10s on LPs. 9.5s on Telecasters.Ernie Ball is OK and I've subbed other reputable brands on occasion, but invariably this is the brand I stock and reorder. I'm in my country band era now and Boomers are still just right. They give me that crisp, toothy grip I like to feel and hear while the other frequencies are punchy and present.I haven't broken a string onstage for 30 years. I change strings at 3-4 weeks. 95 % of the time I'm using Boomers.I've tried coated, copper splattered, zero oxygen, silver infused, dream catcher breakthrough strings, and while most live up to durability claims, the consistency and feel of Boomers are still my choice for the price. I don't mind changing strings more often. No matter what the package says, I can't trust strings over 4 weeks old.

Impressed - 9.5's seem like an easy gauge to play with a great sound
I bought these on a whim -I wanted to try GHS strings- and noticed afterwards that they were .0095, .0115, .016, .024, .032, .044. so I put them up since I just had my Squier Fat Strat set up for 9's.Fast forward a while and it is time to change strings again. The only pack I find on-hand are these 9.5s. I figured "what the heck, I'll use them ... I might need to tweak the truss rod or saddles a bit, but I've wanted to learn more about doing that anyway." I have a couple of Dan Erlewine's books so I was ready to go.Well, I might "need" to tweak the setup or intonation, but I cannot feel or hear it.The strings are close enough to the 9's that they play fine for me - a relative beginner who can barely play Wild Thing or Brown Eyed Girl. These 9.5s seem to be more stable and stay in tune better than the 9's and they are clearly louder; I practice unplugged. The tone is so much more obvious that I re-checked my tuning - twice. They are more resonant and have more sustain than the 9's. My meager bends are no more difficult than with the 9's but the guitar sounds better. All this without doing a new set-up or tweaking anything. I'm impressed. What more could I ask for? Hmmmm...Well, they are not less than $3 a set like Webstrings (not bad, but I do not care for how they are packaged), Darco (a lot like D'Addario who used to make them - great value) or Xaviere (too stiff feeling, IMO), but sometimes you do get what you pay for. Also, I suspect 9.5 sets might be hard to find in your local music stores.BTW, this may be a "unique" gauge as stated above, but other vendors are doing the same thing. I can say with certainty that at least D'Addario (D'Addario EXL120+ Electric Guitar Strings, Super Light Plus, 9.5-44) and DR (Half-Tite HT-9.5) also have string sets with comparable thicknesses. In fact AFAICT, the gauges are identical to a D'Addario EXL120+ set.-------------------- Treble e - B - G - D - A - Bass EGHS Boomers GB9.5: 0095 - 0115 - 016 - 024w - 034w - 044wDR Half-Tite HT-9.5: ___ 9.5 -- 12 -- 16 -- 24 -- 34 -- 44D'Addario EXL120+: .0095 -- .0115 -- .016 -- .024 -- .034 -- .044* Do not mistake the very common D'Add EXL120s (9s) for the EXL120+ (9.5s) setsIf you play 9's and are curious if the "tone" from 10's are worth the "bending" effort, or maybe if you play 10's but your fingers aren't as young as they once were then I encourage you to give 9.5's a try. At $4 or $5 a set, it probably is about what you are paying now, and you have a few well-known string companies to choose from.I think I will be experimenting with the 9.5 sets more in the future.

Great strings
Nice sounding and feeling strings. The round core provides a lower tension that the same gauge strings made of hex core. Overall, a good value for the price paid and is now my preferred strings. Was previously using Daddario NYXL strings of the same gauge but didnt like the harder tension and the higher price.
