I must admit I was sceptical when I opened this capillary mat. I cut it in half, soaked one half in the sink full of water until it was completely soaking wet and then laid it on my draining board making sure there was enough to hang into the bottom of the sink . After putting my seed trays (the soft pliable plastic ones) on the mat side by side, I carefully watered the seedlings until the soil was soaking wet. I filled the washing up bowl in the sink with water and laid the mat into the bottom of the bowl and crossed my fingers…. Imagine my delight on returning from my holiday after two weeks to find that my seedlings had grown and were flourishing. I washed the mat out and left to dry ready to use again. I thoroughly recommend this product and would use again.

easy to cut

I tried three different watering methods to use during a 2 week holiday. This was very successful. I put a thick soaked square of this stuff on the kitchen draining board. It was still wet 2 weeks later and the plants were well. Suits smaller plants I think.

Excellent, good size which can be cut to fit your trays etc. Kept my greenhouse plants watered for 2 weeks. Very satisfied, thank you.

Bought to create a drop wall in my riparium and grow moss/ferns - not sold for this but does its job perfectly to achieve my aims

This is a waste of time and money. The supposedly capillary action is none existent. It's just a plastic felt. Don't buy!!
