Good kit
Honestly the magnet is strong but I’ve caught more with a trihook attached but it’s where I been going not the magnets fault the rope is ok but kinda stringy and bouncy when wet gloves are ok I guess I don’t use them

Excited to try this out when the weather warms up
Bought for me and my boyfriend to try because we love watching all the finds on shows even if it’s not worth anything. It’s fun to see what people’s lost and getting it out of the water. Gloves don’t seem to be the best but I plan on getting some for myself and a different pair for my boyfriend. The magnet is very strong and the rope is of good quality. Excited for it to warm up and see what we can find

Sometimes it's the little things that save big things
A few years ago during a storm, we lost one of the Kayak stands off the edge of our dock (there are 2 to stack one Kayak above the other). I thought about it for a while, and found a 750-lb fishing magnet from Amazon for $16.99. I thought we could throw the magnet off the edge of the dock, and with any luck we could pull up the missing stand.Since Helene wreaked havoc on our region in September 2024, our dock which was temporarily repaired, shifted again. We thought for sure the new dock location was above the missing stand, but we weren't exactly sure. We threw the magnet in all directions - and after about 30 tries, we found the missing stand!!We pulled up to the surface and with all our excitement, lost it again - but at least we knew the area to search. After a few more tries -we found it again! We pulled it out of the water, brought it up and pressure washed it. We then brought both Kayaks up to the concrete pad and stacked them in the stands.We can't believe it!! The magnet fishing worked!

Magnet, rope, clip good for cheap quality. Gloves not so much
The magnet, rope, and clip are what you can expect for a lot of this price. The gloves must have been for someone with a birth defect as they had fingers of varying length as well as the thumbs being nubs. Admittedly I did not purchase this kit based on the gloves. The lashing on the rope is a piece of shrink plastic so plan on replacing/improving the knotting. Screw lock on the hook so it is nice and secure. Magnet has a slightly larger diameter than a soda can.
