Inflatable Pet Recovery Collar 1 Large Size

I had to try this as my 75 pound dog, Ginger, had been bitten by a snake on the top of her head ( fortunately, a non-poisonous snake! ) and then had scratched a terrible "hot spot" on her head. The vet cleaned the wound all up and stressed that Ginger would need to wear a collar ( we had the old Elizabethan style at home, with the stiff plastic sides )......we knew that would be a struggle as Ginger despised that collar.....so when the vet suggested BooBooLoon, we went online that night and ordered it. It arrived the next day and we found that it was SO easy for Ginger to get around while wearing this, she could eat and drink easily while wearing it, and she just looked so much more comfortable wearing it. And it worked, it prevented her from scratching the wound so it healed much more quickly than usual. We love this product!

Our dog had knee surgery. The collar was much more comfortable than the Elizabethan collar. Unfortunately, he was able to get at his sutures and we had to switch to the E lizabethan. Perhaps dogs with shorter snouts would do better.

Firstly, I'd like to say that I have purchased the Comfy Cone and the Pro-Collar prior to this purchase. Comfy Cone is comfortable for her, but is limited to seeing only what is in front of her-limited vision, but very comfortable. The Pro-Collar looked uncomfortable cause it's so full and stiff. She was also able to get to her injured rear leg...FAIL! I then happened to see the Boobooloon Collar. Purchased the collar in a size large for my 50 LB Lab X. She has a broad chest, thick neck, long legs and a small head with a Lab snout. I think this is the perfect size for her 19" neck. If it was any bigger, she'd be tripping over it. if I went smaller, then she would definitely be able to getto her rear leg. Seems very comfortable, super light and has 360 vision. As instructed, inflated to only half of it's true sauce, to make sure that it closes and is comfortable. Unfortunately, the Velcro closures are not very secure and was able to take her paw and spin it around until it releases (she figured this out after a few days). I have written the manufacturer and asked them to use either rivets or breakaway closures to ensure that it will not come off. Anything that makes it 100% secure would make this a perfect collar. Waiting for their reply. Hope they can make this minor improvement to make their product the best collar on the market in terms of comfort and effectiveness. The hard, plastic Elizabethan Cone that was originally given to her is probably the most effective, but definitely the most uncomfortable! I truly think that Boobooloon could be just as effective if it could be securely closed.

comfortable, but did not stand up to the claws of a determined Shepherd-Lab mix who easily pulled at the seams. There were no puncture holes, but the seams split & leaked air. I tried taping with duck tape, but still air escaped. Am on my 3rd one in 3 months. Should be fine for a non-aggressive dog.

Our 110 pound ridgback had rear end surgery. He is very smart and flexible so we bought 3 different cones. This one is a perfect secondary cone. I wouldn’t leave my dog alone with this one but it is perfect for a break from the comfy cone or the Elizabethan cone. It is nice because the dog can see well. Only fill it halfway! The Velcro closure isn’t very strong but if using as a secondary, it is just fine.

While this looks a bit goofy, it worked very well for my itchy Golden Retriever and kept her from chewing her hind leg. It is light and super comfy for the dog and since it's not fully inflated, they don't bump into things in a jarring fashion. They just push past furniture, doorways etc. Also,it's really easy to slip on. At least for this dog, works far far better than the "cone of shame". And my shins are thankful too.

This was a joke product. It came off with one swipe of a paw, and popped immediately (less than 60 seconds).

This collar is supposed to be used as a replacement for traditional Elizabethian collars to prevent dogs from being able to lick wounds on their body after surgery. I had high hopes for it and it certainly looks cuter than the normal ones. It also allows a dog to use it as a head pillow which makes it way more comfortable and less bothersome for them. Unfortunately it doesn't work. I rescued a 85 lb German Shepherd Dog, and got a large collar for after his neuter operation to prevent him from licking the stiches. He was still able to reach the wound and lick it. This was not helpful. In addition, he scratched it and it broke after 2 days; I checked is nails and they were not sharp. Maybe the extra large would have been better in my case but as there are no breed recommendations and it fit perfectly I don't know if that would have made any difference. The main problem I have with this is the material; it's too fragile. If they made this from better material it could be great but this is not working well.
