Evelyne BrochuX Company: Season 3

Fantastic Realistic Dramatic
This TV series is superb. I love the intrigue and characters they developed - BRAVO CBC. I wish they would have used the native languages of the characters throughout but like some productions they chose to start with the characters speaking a bit of German and then switch to English rather than stay true to the language being spoken (this is more true in this season as they give up all pretense of speaking German - btw, they never used French even though the series starts in France and remains there for two seasons). I can understand why they did it, not only finding actors fluent in German but some people don't like subtitles. I actually really appreciate authenticity, especially with language. It just doesn't play true for me when two Germans are speaking English to each other. I guess I go back to Combat! when it was aired in the 1960s and they spoke French and German WITHOUT subtitles to give it an air of authenticity. I prefer subtitles but I am digressing. The series is everything us WWII film buffs enjoy in a video. There seems to be realism, other than the language thing, and I like the way they leave one in suspense as to what is going to happen to the characters. There is great action and drama and some nice plot twists but not so many that you lose track of what the authors are trying to convey. I was so sad when I finished the last episode and felt a loss for days afterwards wanting more. There aren't many series that have done that to me, but this one could have continued the series and I only hope they do so at a later date.As a HUGE WWII film buff (I have over 200), I would strongly recommend this series to anyone who shares my interest in this genre. You won't be disappointed other than when you realize it is over and you want more.

Absolutely outstanding
I don’t usually watch shows based on war but stumbled on this series by accident. It is one of the best series I have ever seen. The whole production is magnificent with an international cast of people totally unfamiliar to me. I bought all three seasons. Each episode leaves you in more suspense than the one you have just finished. The whole premise is based on Camp X in Ontario during WWII which makes it even more fascinating. Thanks for an unforgettable experience!! I would give this 100 stars if I could.

Love the series, but disc 2 didn't work. Even after getting a new return the same disc won't work.
Awesome series. Only complaint is disc 2 won't work and had returned it and got a new set and still disc 2 won't work. I blame China.

Great show!
Great show!!! Very engaging with lots of realism. More effort and research should’ve been done into the various uniforms worn by all involved. Especially the German uniforms. But you won’t even notice unless you are familiar with Wehrmacht and SS uniforms and ranks.

Superb historical drama series!
Great series! I think the final season was a little rushed since they knew it was the last season. But it is an outstanding show!! Wish there was more programming like this on TV!!

the actors
I was disappointed that this only ran for three seasons, and being a true story was an added plus.....the actors were amazing.

Conclusion to an interesting TV series based on historical facts.
The conclusion to a very interesting, historically based series about spies in WWII and the Canadian Camp X which was used for train spies for work in Europe to defeat the Nazi's. It covers the experiences of a team of spies and their missions. Personal as well as emotional struggles to carry out their missions. This series is for anyone that is interested in how the war was helped by spies to recruit both the various resistance forces and German soldiers and officers to help defeat the German army. This conclusion show the struggle for a German officer's loyalty to the Reich and his view that the methods are wrong as well as how it affects his wife. The "extras" could have included many of the special pieces that were available on a CBC web site for the duration of the series. Information that provided historical information to the equipment and tools used by the real spies trained at Camp X.A series that I will watch over again as we have watched the first two seasons multiple times already.

If you haven't seen this series...don't miss out...couldn't recommend more highly
Yet another EXCELLENT (though sadly final) season of one of the very best series set during WWII. As with previous seasons, the story is engaging & the acting is exceptional (especially Torben Liebrecht!!!!!!). Living in the U.S., I had to wait for the DVD in order to watch this final season & after binge watching the series in what must be record time, I can say with all honesty -- this is a very high quality program that should not be missed. The one & only negative? As mentioned previously, this is sadly the final season of this Canadian series, based on Canada's real life X Company. The only saving grace is that I now wait (somewhat impatiently I must admit) knowing that co-creators Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morgenstern (who also co-created the hit show Flashpoint) will certainly come up with another show guaranteed to capture the quality and success of both X Company and Flashpoint. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

This is very well done you won't be disappointed
There really is very little to dislike in this series you will be very pleased with it it is a rewatchable series. There is clean this in it yet there is the aspect of drama and yes it gets a little gritty but doesn't overdo it I believe that if you like good fairly clean, you won't go wrong with this.

Good Company.
Great series. Hope it returns for another season. The cast is great, especially Evelyne Brochu. The historical aspect is especially interesting and compelling given the times we are now living in. It is refreshing to see characters that act on behalf of greater interests than their own. I highly recommend for those interested in the not so distant past and the effect of conflict at the personal level in the midst of a world under siege.

So sad this series has ended.
Based on stories from a real spy-training facility in Ontario during W.W.II, this was a devastatingly poignant and accurate portrait of what life was like for those courageous agents who were parachuted behind enemy lines, giving their lives to fight Nazi tyranny. Every Canadian should see this series and learn what heroes real Canadians were.
