intuitive, compact, powerful, consistent, worthwhile.
I rarely say, or even admit this type of sentiment to myself, but what a great purchase. I've been using this flashlight (Color: E8 (Sidelight: UV+Red+White)) every day for several months, in the woods, on the trail, at the campsite, in the workplace, walking the dogs, in the attic, in the crawlspace, in the garage, and everywhere in between, and have found utility in nearly every function that it offers. My favorite feature of this lilliputian lantern is consistency in button behavior. The logic, forward-thinking and consideration that was put into the buttons alone indicates that these guys definitely care about their end-user. Even sans instruction manual, you will quickly learn the button behaviors, and find practical ways to exercise them. The included pocket clip is a bit tight to fulfill its intended purpose, but I keep it attached nonetheless, just to help orient the light in my hand by feel in the dark. Aside from that, the entire unit fits easily into the "watch pocket" of a standard pair of jeans or khakis, and is completely unnoticeable when walking. The strobe function (button 1, three clicks), is extremely irritating, which is exactly what you want in a strobe function. It is bright and disorienting at close range, and utterly impossible not to notice at long range. Feel free to draw your own conclusions and use-cases from those two evaluations. This diminutive dynamo will fit the bill. The power supply (one rechargeable onboard lithium + a spot for one AAA battery) might seem a bit of a novelty at first, but is practical when you average out the ways in which people will use this type of flashlight. A full charge will probably get you through a long weekend at the camp with heavy use, and that's great; simply throw it on a USB-C charger when you get back home or back to the vehicle. But when you walk the dogs every night and frequently have to use the high-powered LED (hold button 1) to locate that one blasted canine who always seems to dart off into the darkness to bark at the moon, a raccoon, or the world in general, it's nice that this gnomish torch will give you a subtle blink and color change on its indicator lights to tell you that it's been awhile since you've charged the lithium battery, and now you're on AAA power, buddy, the clock is ticking. The "UV" light function (button 2, three clicks), is sufficient for very close-range use, such as checking the cleanliness of your hotel bathroom, or finding spills and liquid spatters on the floor that the naked eye couldn't catch when you were cleaning something, etc. It is not nearly as robust as a dedicated UV flashlight or blacklight, but it's a nice-to-have feature. The seal provided for the USB-C charging port comes with its own replacement in the manufacturer's box. I wasn't sure whether this was really, really good customer service, or an indicator that, "hey, sometimes the thing just fails and falls out so we're gonna get ahead of your call to customer support." So far, the original is still intact, and I'm happy about that. I'll call it good customer service for now. Overall, great purchase, great little flashlight.

This one is killer!
This has got to be one of the coolest lights available. I’m a geocacher and a sailor who is out in dark places from time to time. This unit is small with choices of brightness, and it has a uv light. We also have cats who are not always discreet about where they pee. It shines brightly under UV light. And finally, it is rechargeable. What a killer combo!

Amazing little light. now part of my EDC
Amazing little light. It's now part of my EDC. Small enough to fit in my sling, yet still packs a lot of useful features. The battery option is good to have just in case. I inserted an old eneloop AAA on there. The UV is not very strong but is useful for close inspection (arms length) and the red light - I always use it, helps my eyes adapt to the dark environment. By the looks of it the durability is average. I mean, i didn't buy this light to drop, throw and smash around. Who does that anyway? Captain Stuff Destroyer? LOL. Under normal daily use, I find the durability to be somewhat adequate. Cons: not much, but I don't like how the main buttons "feel"

It's what I was hoping for.
So far this is an amazing light. It takes a minute to get the button presses right for what you want the light to do, but overall amazing. I love that it's flat as I'll be carrying in my pocket a lot so no huge pocket bulge. Build quality seems great, though the usbc cover seems a little flimsy, but they sent a spare if it comes off. The clear case is pretty neat, but really not a consideration. Overall pretty happy with this. I really love the dual power options between disposable and rechargeable.

Bright but Flawed
This is a compact, bright flashlight. It has multiple LED emitters that can be effective. On the down side, the dual on-off buttons on the side of the case are poorly protected and can be easily pressed accidentally resulting in the flash light running down its batteries. This is true especially if you carry the light in your pocket or purse. A flashlight is useless if the battery is dead. Generally this is a quality product that needs more thought and improved switches to be truly useful.

Best EDC so far
Pictured for size comparison are the Olight Baton 3, RovyVon E8, RovyVon Aurora A5, and Olight 1R2. These are just a few of my recent EDC flashlights that have evolved over the years. I've been carrying some kind of light daily for about 10 years now. Although the Baton is easily the brightest of the bunch it is just a bit chunky for EDC to me so it got relegated to a "go bag". Brightness isn't the only factor to me. It is nice that it can be charged independently inside the case, and it's built like a tank. But the E8 has better overall features for my use case and the fact that it can carry a AAA as a backup, and change it out as needed, trumps the Baton charging case IMO. Plus the E8 is slimmer and just feels better in the hand to me. USB-C charging is a HUGE plus since I have them all over the house, car, work van, and don't need to hunt for a proprietary case or cord. Most recently I had been carrying the A5 daily, which is a fine EDC light but beginning to show it's age. The E8 is certainly wider but has so many additional features it's worth it. Of note is the main LEDs are on the warmer side, not Nichia warm but noticeably warmer than most in this category. That's highly personal preference but I think it's a great compromise. Just one odd thing to me is the twin LEDs. Not sure if it's cosmetic or serves any real purpose. Doesn't bother me, but I wonder if one LED would have been just as well? Maybe 2 at slightly lower lumens is used to create more light without as much heat, just speculation. I was also concerned the top cover clasp may be easy to open, but it's pretty tight and I don't think it will be an issue. I don't use the clip but it fastens very securely. Oh and it doesn't tail stand very well due to the key ring attachment. I can carefully balance it, but any slight knock on the table will tumble it. Not a big deal to me as I have other lights I would be using to light up a room for long periods if needed. If using the side lights, it will stand on it's head just fine. I expect the E8 will nicely fill my EDC flashlight role for at least a year, until the next best thing comes along :)

Worth it
I didn't see myself spending like 60$ on a tiny flashlight but for a dual battery capable device this is the one you need. My unit that I purchased had a slight issue with the buttons and the sensitivity of the springs, but the customer support was amazing and helped me to a resolution quickly. All advertised lumen times are accurate and provided within the small manual. It comes in a small box and it's very light. Great for EDC, and the sidelights are way better than the body lights of the previous versions. This is super useful and you never know when you need some light and this product is there to deliver. the RovyVon E8 Keychain Flashlight is also extremely well-built and durable. Its rugged construction and high-quality materials make it resistant to wear and tear, so you can be sure that it will withstand the rigors of everyday use without showing any signs of wear or damage. Another great thing about this is the quality of light produced by the RovyVon E8 is simply outstanding. The dual 6500K cool white emitters provide a clear and bright beam that is perfect for EDC purposes, whether you're using it to navigate dark hallways or to search for lost items in your car or home. All in all, the RovyVon E8 Keychain Flashlight is an exceptional product that is well worth the investment. With its high-quality construction, accurate run times, and excellent performance, it's sure to become an essential tool in your EDC arsenal.

Good size and function.
Great slightly larger keychain sized light. Bought this for a travel kit. Lots of functions without wasted multicolor LED and Red & Blue flash that some multi-function lights have. The two button system and Dual fuel option are what made me choose this over an Aurora A8 or similar smaller light.

Perfect EDC flashlight.
Awesome EDC flashlight. I use it daily. Good build quality, the plastic feels like old pagers or handheld radios, which is a good thing. Took me a bit to remember the controls, but it's fairly straightforward and intuitive. Make sure to refer to the instructions before you attempt to open it, as there's a trick to it.

La utilidad
Es un excelente producto, aparte de que se le puede agregar una pila AAA para casos de emergencia en caso de que no cargaras el dispositivo.

Loads of utility - with one flaw for pocket carry
I have lots of flashlights. This guy is smaller than I expected, but packs a big punch. Just holding down the primary button will give you max lumens (800 I think) which is perfect for quickly checking something on my pre-dawn bus inspection. The red light in flashing mode is PUNCHY and perfect for riding a bike/scooter at night. It’s way brighter than I expected. I mean, it can genuinely serve as a rear bicycle light in a pinch. The diffused side light is also excellent — you get a dim light for a very long run time, or a bright light to illuminate a tent or small room, for an hour or two. UV light is fairly weak, but does work as advertised. Do not shine this in your bathroom at night … The flaw which prevents this light from becoming my new pocket light is that you really have to lock it out, to make it safe for pocket-clip carry. The battery is small in this thing, and the charge doesn’t last long with higher brightness levels, so I cannot afford this light coming on in my pocket while I’m driving my bus. Therefore I need to lock it out. The lock/unlock IS very easy — simply click the button four times — but that is an extra step I do not want, in an EDC pocket light. I will stick with a tail-switch light. I have relegated this light to my bedside table, where I know I can grab it and shoot 800 lumens by holding a single button, or double click the button for a very low mode to move around the house. Good for bedside table, not good for my pocket unfortunately. It would also be great for backpack or sling-bag carry; it’s extremely small and light, and gives so much functionality. Finally, with the option of the AAA battery backup, I have to give this little light 5 stars, it truly is very impressive!
