Excellent saw. Very easy to use. I don't suggest buying the guide for another 100 bucks. You can easily cut vert small stones with no risk of injury. I have cut lots of geodes and some lighting stones with this saw and it's awesome! The price is a bit high, but worth it, in my opinion.

This 10 inch saw will grow into a 36 inch saw one day. They grow up so fast

I purchased the Hi-Tech 10" rock saw to make my little stone crosses. So far I've cut 50 of them from fieldstone found in the local area. Each cross requires 12 cuts for the cross, and additional cuts for the slabs from which crosses are cut. Happily I'm still on the first of the 2 blades that came with the saw. As others have noted, I find the drain not to be a well thought out design, and I wish there were a better way to shield the water for the cutting coolant. My temporary solution is to put a garbage bag over the back of the blade. I'll try to figure out something more effective, but for how this helps keep my work area drier than it was without it. I'll not detract a star for that, as I knew of that issue when I bought it. The cuts in the slabs, are very smooth. I'm quite happy with my purchase.

The saw works fine, but the blade it came with did not last long. I have purchased 3 other brands of blades to try. Only complaint about the saw design is that the drain hole needs to be re-designed. It nothing more than a hole that is plugged by a rubber stopper. The stopper comes out easily even when forced into place. I had it come loose and fill my shoes with water three times, so I finally just taped it into place. I use a cooking baster to empty the water, and although it takes more time, my shoes are a lot happier!

Excellent quality tool! I finally got the papa bear of Hi-Tech saws, having a smaller one I was also completely happy with, and familiar with the powerful quiet smooth running motors. It cuts through the larger rough like a dream! Easy to drain and clean. Highly recommend this brand- worth every penny!
