DAO - Histamine Neutralizing Enzyme - 60

I’ve had Mast Cell Syndrome for years but didn’t know it. It was a physical therapist/nutritionist who pointed it out. He recommended this product, esp because it only has the diamine oxidase And vitamin c. No other junk. The first time I took a capsule I had a frightful reaction. Dizzy, chills, nausea. When I told my therapist about it, he said to break open a capsule and start with just 5 pelletsand add more slowly from there over the weeks. So I did that and it started working. Then I increased slowly over time. Better and better results. I’m up to about a half a capsule now and feeling great. No itchiness, less bloatin, ankles less swollen, gut feeling normal etc. No more cramps and indigestion. Unfortunately the bottle I just received is different. Inside the capsules is powder. No pellets. I’m a little thrown off. Is this the new formula? Or is it an old one? Anybody know?

I have had histamine intolerance for a number of years. My primary symptoms were uticaria, digestive upsets, and runny nose. I had been able to control the problem with a daily regimen of H1 and H2 antihistamines (an outbreak of symptoms occurring only every 6-8 weeks). About a year ago the H2 antihistamines began to worsen the problem (I believe due to their effect on DAO) so I stopped taking the H2 antihistamines and good control of my symptoms continued.Around six weeks ago I began having routine morning headaches. The headaches became progressively worse and turned into a migraine-like headache that lasted for six days. My doctor found a pain relief medication that I was able to tolerate (I cannot take any NSAID due to their effect on histamine intolerance) and the headache finally ended. My doctor ordered a CT scan and it showed no abnormalities.After consultation with my doctor I decided to try a DAO supplement. I ordered the Umbrellux DAO on a Friday afternoon and received it the following Monday. I began taking 2-3 capsules a day just before mealtimes depending on how histamine-rich my meal was going to be. Within three days all of my histamine intolerance symptoms had disappeared. After a week of being symptom free I decided to give the Umbrellux DAO a real test. I took two capsules before an extremely histamine rich meal that included a half a bottle of wine (I had been unable to drink any alcoholic beverage for several months without developing a headache). I continued to have no symptoms.After a very successful 10-day trial of the Umbrellux DAO I just ordered another 120 capsules. I am very encouraged that this could be a long term solution for my histamine intolerance without resorting to the extremes of a low histamine diet.My next test will be to determine if the Umbrellux DAO will allow me to take a NSAID pain reliever.

This product has helped me feel like a normal person again! I had been doing so much research and gone to several doctors and naturopaths but I don't think we were ever able to pinpoint what exactly was going on in my system. Everything was gut related but still and everything they suggested was supposed to help- apple cider vinegar, probiotics, bone broth, Proton pump inhibitors, etc. I tried it all!I still haven't figured it out completely however, taking the Umbrellux DAO, has really eliminating many of the symptoms I was feeling previously- constant nausea, acid reflux, tremors, anxiety, bloating, etc. For the first time in 6 months I can actually confidently go to work. It's crazy! I am extremely happy I found this product after tons of research and wish I had found this earlier. Histamine intolerance is a real thing and I wish Western doctors would have more info on it. Times are changing!

I have sibo and IBS. My histamine attacks are so scary. I used this for three days. Each time it CAUSED a histamine attack, with racing heart, shaking so badly I couldn't even drink a glass of water without spilling it. I'm really afraid to take it again. it's also very expensive. I would not recommend it to anyone..

Its a great product for those with histamine overload. But a bit pricey compared to Daosin.

I am blonde hair blue eyed and have severe "Asian glow"; if I drink wine or beer or nearly any type of alcohol (stars above help me if it is cheap alcohol/well drink) my neck, face and chest breaks out in big red blotches and my face feels as if it is burning up (it becomes hot to the touch as if I have a fever) and I feel as if I am having a severe allergic reaction ... pass the buzz and go straight to nightmare hangover. It has become worse with age. This supplement is fantastic! Take it before drinking ( but I have even taken it with my first sip of red wine) and you can enjoy a few drinks without a flush and without the hangover which has you seriously contemplating going to the ER.

I've had this product several days and can tell it is helping a great deal. Histamine intolerance is a tricky thing to deal with. This isn't like Benadryl or such product that stops allergic reactions. It is to help your body deal with foods rich in histamine or histamine releasing by being able to process/digest it in your intestines. This doesn't mean that you can just eat what you want and expect to not have any issues. It will help alleviate the problem but if you overload your system with histamine rich/releasing foods, then it can't help. Everyone is different in regards to how much they can handle with histamine. This product is definitely helping but I am also cutting back on things that might be making the 'bucket' overflow. I recommend this product but also recommend getting the handbook, The Beginner's Guide to Histamine Intolerance as it might enlighten you to reducing what may be causing some of the problem in addition to having this enzyme lowered or depleted in your body.
