Druids Grove Vegan Gelatin offers the functionality of standard gelatin with ingredients sourced entirely from plants. It is free of additives, preservatives, and colorings. Like traditional gelatin, Vegan Gelatin is a highly effective gelling agent that can be used for a variety of applications. It is functionally superior to hydrocolloids like Agar that are often used as a vegetarian/vegan substitute for gelatin. Vegan Gelatin allows you to take on recipes where standard gelatin is utilized without sacrificing your results. One such common application is for confectioneries like jelly candies. Use Druids Grove Vegan Gelatin to create classics like gummy bears or marshmallows.Typical usage: 1.5 – 2.5% of final product Use as a 1:1 substitute for Knox gelatin powder

Inedible, unusable, practically empty canister upon arrival
This had hardly ANY product in this huge canister. I’m talking literally 8 Tablespoons of product - I measured it! Also, when I used it to make gummies, even tho it says 1-for-1 replacement for regular jello - it clumped horribly and the consistency was completely wrong and inedible. If I could give negative stars I would. I hardly ever write reviews unless I really love or really hate something. I hate this product. Save your money.

Might work for what you are doing, but there is no way to be sure until you try.
I bought this to make vegan marshmallows. The first issue is the amount in the canister. As mentioned by another reviewer, the canister is about 1/8 full. Yes, I’m sure this is the 4 ounces stated, but why not package it more appropriately? This packaging is SO WASTEFUL.The next problem was that it clumped. I have used animal derived gelatin in the past and understand how to work with it to avoid clumps. But this clumped each time I used it. I finally poured it into my Vitamix to blend out the clumps before putting it back into my KitchenAid mixer to try to whip it into marshmallow. So, after spending $19 on approximately 9 tablespoons of this gelatin, I have nothing to show for it. I tried making 2 1/2 different batches of vegan marshmallows with this and was unsuccessful. The photo shows what it looked like after I added more liquid and beating for 15 minutes. Each batch ended in the trash. I feel like I just dropped my $20 bill in the trash. But seriously, the most frustrating part is that I would have continued to experiment had there just been more product in the canister. And the worst part is that there are no instructions - zero, nadda, none!! Not on the can and not on the website. So you can’t really be sure if you are even using it properly. According to their website, you can use this product to make marshmallows, they just don’t happen to give a recipe for it.I see now that there is a phone number I can call, but of course I would have to spend another $19 on another canister of gelatin to try yet again (that is, if they actually have a marshmallow recipe hiding somewhere). And frankly, the thought of $38 bucks on marshmallows gives me a headache!

Coming from a person that HATES substitutes and has a traditional all inclusive diet I can't stress how refreshing it is to find a product that's easy and tasty
It works! It really really really works! No funky after taste, no chalky mouthfeel. Coming from a person that HATES substitutes and has a traditional all inclusive diet I can't stress how refreshing it is to find a product that's easy and tasty. I used it to stabilize a vegan coconut, passion fruit mousse and was so happy with the results. My only let down would be in the instructions, although the ratio is correct of 1 to 1 replacement for regular gelatin. It does not need to be bloomed or activated like regular gelatin. Instead applying the powder directly to your liquid base is best. Overall I will be purchasing again if needed.

For such a big container you get less than 1/4 in powder volume.
I was so dissapointed in this product. Packaging was beautiful (on the outside) Price wasnt the best. The product left no lasting impression other than the contents of the container was the size of the palm of my hand. Where as the container itsself has the volume of a bustello can inside of it.

Do not waste your money on this garbage.
This was the most absurd packaging I’ve ever seen. There were no instructions on the package, the resealable container was massive and useless for storing the small packet of powder contained in it. When I found the manufacturer’s preparation instructions on google, my result was a goopy mess. This was a waste of money and I want a refund.

A great alternative source for making gummy bears
It seems to not take quite as much as my recipe called for...gelled faster than I expected, but made an overall excellent product!
