I was skeptical about this one because of the low price. I have bought and installed many Simplex mechanical combination locks and those are heavy and solid. i didnt think there was any way a lock which cost a third of the price could compete. I was wrong. This lock is a great value. quality seems to be up there with the big brands and fit and finish are excellent. the hardware isn't as robust as what you get with other locks (i installed my own strike plate) but the lock itself and the parts all seem adequate. the only thing i don't like is that the 4 screws on the inside plate that hold the whole lock together are exposed but at least they ship the lock with nicely finished screws so it still looks nice.

Works well, but numbers are hard to see. Would like it better if keypad was lighted.

Very cheap quality, doesn’t work . Hard to install and had missing parts

I live in a safe neighborhood and have a 110-pound dog, and someone is almost always home so I'm not concerned about security. This is a lock that could probably be broken very easily by a criminal. The installation was VERY easy. They provide a nice paper drilling template and materials for multiple size doors and widths. Setting the code was VERY easy., but it does require disassembly. This is a very good value for the money. The lock material is like a nickel stainless, very nice! But do not consider this lock if you live in an area with lots of crime. Also the number combination can be pressed in any order, so it's very easy for someone else (or a neighbors security cam) to see what numbers you put in. Like an ATM, use your body to block visibility when entering the codes. Keep the keys clean so wear patterns don't show frequently used numbers. This lock will stay unlocked after you enter the code. In order to lock the unit, you simply lift up on the handle. Simple to lock, but do remember to. Also this lock like any other level lock, is NOT childproof, meaning a young child could easily open the door and get outside. Watch those grandkids when they come to visit.Update: The lock handle broke off in my wife's hand tonight. It's been installed for less than a month. Dropped to 1 star.

This mechanical lock requires no batteries. It is easily installed with the use of the included template to drill 4 holes. It is sturdy and has an attractive, contemporary look.My first lockset has been in use for almost a year and looks and operates as good as the day I installed it.I heartily recommend this lockset to anyone tired of wrestling keys and bags in the rain.I'd give it a 6 if I could!

It should be made *really* clear that anyone just needs to the pick the "right numbers" and not put them in order to open the door. E.g. 1234 will open the lock. 2341 will open the lock. 3412 will open the lock and so forth, which is significantly different from other combination locks. This should really be highlighted and not just put in parenthesis at the bottom. Other than that, the lock seems well made. Finish is nice. Again the downside is that the combination mechanism (which some might argue is the most important feature of a lock), so I'm docking it 3 stars.Edit: I installed it and as I said it looks nice and it feels solid so I bumped it up two stars.

Installed lock on door to my home office door. The instructions and included templates made the installation easy. I like the fact that it is a mechanical lock and does not require batteries.

The product was fairly easy to install. WHEn we had problems, customer service helped out. Only complaint about the design is there’s no key option (in case of malfunction) and it’s not self-locking. One has to remember to lift the handle up when entering or leaving, or the door remains unlocked.
